A few days ago, promoter Lou DiBella told BoxScene that he planned to watch Saturday's welterweight bout between Timothy Bradley and Carlos Abregu with a lot of interest. DiBella was interested in the fight because he planned to pursue the winner as a possible fall opponent for WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto.

that's the fight that needs to happen.. both of these fighters need to keep moving foward building their resume and expanding their fan base and reputation instead of waiting for pacquiao or floyd to give them a chance at a payday and stardom

    :hat

good fight, more realistic for both of their careers instead of calling out pacman or something equally ******ed.

It's too soon for Bradley to fight any big name welter weights. I think he should go down @ 140 and fight Alexander or Khan. Berto will beat Bradley,IMO.

Berto's a lot faster than Bradley's previous comp. That'll be a step up for sure.

This fight won't happen anytime soon. HBO really wants Bradley vs. Alexander. That means they will offer more money for the Bradley/Alexander fight then they will for Bradley/Berto. Bradley is pretty much going to have to fight Alexander next. Berto's career has really stalled. It would be great if he could get a fight with Cotto, but I really don't see that happening either.

I don't see why Bradley is seemingly so eager to leave 140 when HBO has invested so much in future premier matchups among himself, Alexander, Khan, Maidana, and Ortiz. He doesn't strike me as the kind of fighter who is afraid of any of these guys. Berto, while not the greatest 147, is a definite step up given his physical attributes.

Because the big money fighters are at 147. Bradley wants to be a PPV fighter.
