Audley Harrison won gold, so did James DeGale both for Britain but that dosent mean everything.
Calzaghe won 3 ABAs in 3 years running at 3 different weights, the only Amatuer boxer to do so, and beat the fighter selected for the olympics who went on to win Bronze

Bailey, I'll take 5 five solid wins in the Super 6 + a convincing win over Bute over Calzaghe's entire career any day of the week...

People can view and analyze fighters any way they wish to validate their positions.

The sum total from the quality opposition (overall talent, skill, etc.) composed of today's versions of Kessler, Green, Dirrell, possibly Froch or Abraham and the Super 6 finalist + Bute.... surpasses Calzaghe's wins that truly enhance the quality of his own resume (Lacy, Hopkins, Kessler).

I don't care about fighters and the way they are promoted. I value solid wins versus pure talent first.

That's another debate that the thread starter could make...

Calzaghe's prime skills versus Ward's prime skills can turn into a good debate.

At this point, I personally favor Calzaghe's overall skills over Ward's.

the tournament also takes down that shield of being protected and given picked opponents..

The fighters with that "0" entered knowing they would be at a greater risk of remaining undefeated.

You obviously havent fully read the first page
How can you then. Kessler was a better undefeated fighter when Joe beat him.
Green is arguably a lesser win than Mkertchyan, but im guessing you dont know Mkertchyans career?
Dirrell lost to Froch and his big win is against a small former MW champ with no real SMW resume and no big MW wins. Dirrell has done less than Veit who Joe beat. Check out Veits career if you dont believe.
Froch is arguably a lesser win than 2 time WBA champ Mitchell
Bute at this time and it dosent immediately look to change has a lesser resume than Lacy.

So HOW can Wards potential resume be better?

I would take anytime now, Bute & all fighters in the Super 6, except possibly Green, to convincingly defeat the past versions (when Calzaghe fought them) of those guys you mentioned.

Ward is in his mid 20's right now and it took Calzaghe how many years to accumulate his supposed signature wins? My point is that Calzaghe has had a full career and Ward's career is just starting out. No young fighter should surpass any so-called ATG this quickly. It shows you how paper thin Calzaghe's accomplishments really are.

Resume doesn't mean you're a better fighter obviously, so there's no need to even bring that up. Kessler's resume was better than Ward's and we saw what happened there. Ward had much less experience than Kessler or Calzaghe and he beat Mikkel much easier than Joe did. I also don't need to read the first page because I already know that Joe's "legacy" is a joke.

Bute doesn't have a lesser resume than the version of Lacy prior to meeting Calzaghe + talent wise Bute is in another league also.

Dirrell without any other guys' accomplishments, is a better talent than Mitchell, Veit. Beating him equals a better win.

Up to recent years, Valuev was like 46-0...did that make it an outstanding accomplishment to beat him ?

I would say he's very close to Calzaghe callibre resume already, if he wins super 6 he easily exceeds it.
