Amir Khan: "I'll Fight Tim Bradley Next"

You gotta respect Khan comp since he moved up to JrWW. Takes on Kotelnik, a title holder in his first fight at 140, a guy who had beaten Maidana. Then takes on an opponent who was not very good but who was an undefeated mandatory challenger. And then he takes on Malignaggi also one of the top ranked fighters in the division. Now he wants to fight Bradley, Maidana, or Marquez... either of those fights are very good.

 

Interesting fight.

Bradley isn't a knockout artist which is why Khan might actually be serious about wanting the fight.

It's tough one to predict, but I'd probably go with Bradley.

 

Peterson was an undefeated prospect. And he has a very tough style to beat.

I think Peterson might wind up being a champion in the future, but Bradley beat him. The point is if Bradley can beat a guy like that he can beat a guy like Kahn or Alexander. Whether or not he'd beat them if they fight would depend on strategy as these fights would be a tactical chess match not a brawl.

 

so do i, but khan is getting better all the time. the more experience he gets with his speed and stamina, his chin will be harder and harder to get too....

Tim facing "undefeated" guys means little when you look at who they were bro. If knowing.... or better yet, your acknowledgemnt is only at a surface level it is evident why you have such a shallow depth regarding your point of view.

Both guys have A LOT left to prove...but what we have thus far is all the tools, ability, talent and foundation to support a long promising career. They all may be future greats but right now they are solid champions with a lot of potential.

Their resumes are decent..NOTHING spectacular and for good reason...they are still progressively getting better.

Khan being KO'd before is what it is. What if Tim gets KO'd by making a mistake when he's a champion? Is that enough to write him off? Khan wasn't a champion...still young in his pro career and without a solid pro team supporting his progression. Taking a loss early in his career by far is a lot easier to build from than later. And Khan has gotten a lot better since the loss.

I'm sorry but Tim isn't even on Margs level or Cotto's. Maybe Berto but I'm guessing no quite yet. Did you see the Fight with Abregu? He's got a lot to improve on but he's very much a solid all around fighter. I think he should be Alexander but not confident. Talent wise Alexander is ahead and he's also more techically sound.

If you you think Bradley can beat Marg or Berto at 147 based on what he did this past Saturday I'm hoping you aren't planning on betting the house on that.

I'd love to see this. I loved how Max Kellerman didn't even bring up Khan but once last night in the broadcast saying he's "clearly being protected".

I'm not a huge Khan fan, but I do like him. Now I'd like to see him go out and fight everyone!

 

You bring up Khans resume then pimp Bradley on beating a guy who had no wins of note.

Lets all make laughable assertions that won't be disproven because they won't happen...

Sure, Bradley v Berto sells twice as many PPVs as Hopkins v Pavlik.

Tim Bradley has been on HBO exactly the same number of times as Amir Khan fwiw.

 

Lets really evaluate this fight. First of all both are fast boxers who move a lot. Khan is faster but bradley has better experience. When you analyse a fight you should look at a fighters jab. Both have good jabs but amir has a world class oscar de la hoyas jab with more snap to it (you saw paulies head fly back). Bradley is a better inside fighter and a better counter puncher however, khan has a reach advantage and can fight from the outside much more comfortably. Amir khan sometimes when he throws combos loses balance a little and is vulneralble to a counter hook. Bradley sometimes loses his rhythm by trying to scrap and is again vunerable against a long range fighter who likes to keep on his feet. This would be a fast paced fight from two very athletic sportsman however, i feel khan is same speed as bradley with the longer reach so after the first few rounds khan would be exerting his dominance.

Khan saying moving up in weight is a good way of ducking! What a ****ing joke. "Duck" the one word that shouldn't be coming out of his mouth. Idiot.

Calling people out that neither the fighter nor his promoter have any intention on fighting is also a great technique of sounding tough and gaining cred (but, in reality, doing the opposite.)

 

Nah the clever way is to only fight lightweights, or when you are/were a lightweight only fight featherweights.
