Simple: This is a competitive sport, there will always be two sides. Wether its football, basketball, baseball, mma, boxing whatever. People will ALWAYS choose sides and at the end of the day, we get the haters.

fair point, but usually support comes from people who want there local team/fighter too win. why dont fans appreciate what both fighters are capable of... both are greats

Yeah, except wouldn't it be ****ing nice if these two decided to just shut up and make the fight everyone wants to see? Especially when we have the mainstream media talking about the sport because of it for the first time since 2006 -- Instead, it's turned into terrible publicity for the sport because it basically confirms for outsiders that it's ashambles due to lack of clear guidelines and stipulations.

You're a fan of both that's rare. I am a Floyd fan but appreciate Pacquiao too. The only problem is both aren't getting any younger and will most likely leave this sport soon. I don't know if the same thing applies to Pacquiao but I think Floyd's losing his fire for the sport. Can't blame either one if they are because both have families to support.

:good if it was about supporting families they could both retire without any more fights. they both have enough money to support 10 families, they should make this fight happen for the sport and the fans, if not why fight anyone else...

It's a shame but I don't think either guy REALLY wants to fight the other. Neither signed any contracts.

Well Floyd understandably gets **** for his personality and opponent choices and Pac gets a bit of **** for some of the demands he puts on opponents (i.e Cotto at Catch weight). However a lot of the hate these guys get on this board is because of each fighters fans.

The loud minority of Pac and Floyd fans over rate (and it is very hard to over rate two ATG's) their respective idol's and their achievements. This riles the other boxer's fans and instead of being objective and separating said boxer's achievements from the fanboys opinion they instead start to hate more on their rival boxer.

Pac and Floyd aren't perfect. Floyd could help himself more by being less of a ***** and taking more tougher opponents and Pac could stop with this catch weight **** but ultimately a lot of the hate is down to the fans inability to be fair and objective. I can understand certain fans pissing you of but you really shouldn't blame the boxer for that.

It's frustrating... it's disappointing for boxing fans not to have this biggest fight in boxing right now.

And I don't like how Floyd gave a cold treatment to all of this. Does he really care about the fans, about the sport where he earns his millions? Or he really cares only about the money?

This is not hating but a protest against Floyd until he breaks his silence about the proposed Pacquiao fight. I will be wearing this Floyd chicken avatar as a sign of protest until I hear something reasonable from Floyd on why he's not committing to a Pacquiao fight now.

I noticed some members here already have this as their avatar. Maybe you guys can join us in this protest. Below is the Floyd chicken avatar, you can wear it too.

That is a very good point that i have been thinking lately but not to many people have pointed out.

I'm not saying it is true and i am not trying to make excuses for Floyd but i think he could be losing his love for the sport, or more specifically, losing the dedication it requires to be at the top of your game in this sport.

He is not long of the Mosley fight and if he were to fight Pac in November he would probably have to start training camp in August. It could be possible that Floyd just can't be bothered and doesn't have the heart for two tough training camps relatively close to each other anymore.

I know Floyd is often in the gym anyway between fights but there is a big difference between going the gym to keep up your fitness and going the gym to prepare for a fight.

In Floyd's head he could be thinking that if the fight happens next year it will give him more time of and with the absence his desire will come back plus it will be highly unlikely that Pac will get beat in the meantime so the fight will still be viable.

    I admire your optimism!

Otherwise, you end up like most *****s - mythical match-up or fantasy match-up experts.

I will be happy to actually own your avatar!

If retirement is his reason why he didn't commit to the Pacquiao fight then it's good enough reason for me. He's entitled to that but he should not ever attempt to fight again if he retires now coz the frustration will become pure hate on Floyd.
