Here are the heavyweight rankings 1. Vitali Klitschko 2. David Haye 3. Alexander Povetkin 4. Ruslan Chagaev 5. Tomasz Adamek 6. Eddie Chambers 7. Nikolay Valuev 8. Sam Peter 9. Tony Thompson 10. Olandier Solis 11. Juan Carlos Gomez 12. Chris Arreola 13. Alexander Dimitrenko 14. Dennis Boystov 15. Ray Austin How do you put Haye in front of Povetkin and Chagaev? What in his resume puts him ahead of those guys? Cases could be made that Peter, Chambers and Adamek are also more accomplished. Granted, Haye's got the WBA belt, but should that have a determinative effect on these rankings? Not trying to diss Haye here...I'd rank him at maybe #5 because of Valuev and his cruiserweight accomplishments.
Because the last time it was discussed the consensus agreement was that those were fair rankings: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231199
this. plus Ruiz and Valuev were both top 10 when he beat them. Povetkin and Chagaev have not beaten a top 10 guy in 2 years. since there wins over valuev and chambers (there best wins) they havent beat a top 20 HW, haye has beaten barret, valuev and ruiz. two were by KO which also helps a rankings as there performance based. Chambers and Povetkin were ahead of him until chambers one sides loss to wlad and Hayes win over Ruiz. theres also no arguement for adameck being ahead of haye.
Well Chagaev haven’t had a good victory since he beat Valuev in 2007, his second best achievement was beating John Ruiz 2006 in a close fight. After that he beat bums and was defeated easily by Wlad Klitchko. There is really no reason to but him ahead of Haye. Povetkin best wins are Chambers in 2008 and old Byrd in 2007. Hayes victory over Valuev and Ruiz equals those victories and they are more recent. So there is really no reason to rank him above Haye. Peter was defeated by Chambers 2009 and Vitali 2008. After that his biggest win is against Nagy Aquilera (who?). No one in their right mind should rank him above Haye. Chambers has a good victory over Peter and Dimitrenko, but he was defeated by Povetkin 2008 and Wlad Klitchko 2010. It is hard to rank him above Haye because of those defeats. Also even without those defeats his victories are equal at best. (Little bit worse IMO) David Haye has victory over Valuev 2009 and over Ruiz in 2010. Add to that his cruiserweight accomplishments and it is perfectly reasonable to have Haye ranked in number 2
i have as much sway in the rankings as anyone else. also have realised i dont think ray austin should be 15, who do you think should replace him??
Well, after the trash Vitali has been talking, I think SNV wills a curbstomping on his ass, and his spot at the top of the rankings back.
