If Floyd comes out in 1 or 2 weeks and says he's willing to fight Pac in December...

I actually think this is a logical stance. Not sure if it's actually what is going on but Floyd could be trying to build the fight up more so there is even more money to be made in 2011. Not sure if Floyd is gonna fight Tim b/c there isn't really enough money for that fight....but it would be an ideal tune up for Floyd given Tim's inexperience and differnce in overall ability.

Floyd will try to get a guy with a big name that can generate good money and good PPV's while offering little in terms of actual risk like when he chose to face JMM. Fighting Tim would a little better than PAC fighting Josh in terms of what it does with numbers...Only b/c Tim is a US born fighter where Josh and PAC both were not.

    What is Mayweather waiting for???
    - He says Pac is a one dimentional fighter and it's an easy fight.
    - His father accuses Pac on being on steroids.
    - He decided to implement an Olympic style drug testing after 40 fights.
    - He wants a 60-40 purse.
    - He says he's on vacation and don't want to think about boxing.

This is just one article that I found but I'm not even sure if Floyd would have taken the fight if PAC did agree to 60/40. I'm sure it couldn't have hurt, but I just feel Floyd doesn't want to fight Manny.

yeah like i said this is just a possibility, and something i can see happening, the only thing is tim is better then bradley as he has beat more better fighters in comparison whereas clottey lost to every fighter that was good

    :good

Yeah I seen a similar article with the Holyfield interview, I'm assuming the details will come out at some point...I guess we will have to wait till then. By the sounds of it, Mayweather had no intention of fighting again this year...it's a ****ing let down to all his fans, including myself.

The problem is, like everyone said after the first negotiations broke down...they have a good year to build the bout up now. But, people are saying the same thing now...they will have longer to hype it. This bouts attractiveness is not going to continue to grow...it will get to a point were people don't care about it anymore. And I've noticed people are already starting to lose interest...all my mates (casual fans) couldn't care less at this point, but after Mayweather beat Mosley they were all for it.

They are going to leave it too long, and it will be a massive disappointment.

The problem with Floyd lately is he's not predictable anymore. But one thing has always been consistant is his ability and willingness to make money. The problem here is Floyd stands to make the most money he's ever made with Manny and he seems to be cool on passing up on that. Not typical Floyd mayweather.

But if he has a BIGGER plan to create more anticipation and more public demand by not jumping on board with the fight for this year I can see the logic in that b/c I think this fight will be a HUGE demand for a while. But Floyd is risking the chance at missing out on this payday b/c ANYTHING can happen....Manny could take a loss and the fight would not be as big. The public could get sick of Floyd and his unwillingness to accept the challenge and the fight could be a non demand...

So from a buiness standpoint Floyd is taking a HUGE gamble in not making the fight....if he does succeed in making the fight more demanded in a year it could be all worth it, but it's not a gurantee.

i think the unpredictability is a great asset fr any fighter businessman or indivisual. . . it keeps peopole on their toes. if people knew what you were going to do it wouldnt cause friction or anticpation as much. as everyone would know your next move

who knows what the reason is that it didnt get made, but for one thing i doubt that it is because he is scared. that is a silly remark as no fighter is scared of another.

then again, floyd been traioning all year, trained to get into jmm fight, continued trainin for pac fight in march, which never happened, then he trained for mosley.

let the guy rest and we will see next year

My point exactly...IF, that is what Floyd is trying to do, in building the fight up more. It's a HUGE risk that from a business standpoint doesn't make much sense given how massive the the return would be for EVERYONE including boxing will gain right now. It could get bigger but it's a HIGH risk that it could do the exact opposite or....Manny or Floyd could end up losing which would be a fight killer and then no one gets to benefit from this fight.

Right now it's a perfect time, place and event for this fight to happen this year. Floyd may be greedy or just not willing to take the chance in facing Manny b/c he knows he could very well lose. Everyone is speculating b/c no one really knows what is going on with Floyd.

I'd say to myself, "wake up" cause I'd obviously be dreaming. Floyd ain't fighting a real challenger. Hasn't since 2002. I've been telling you people this and even now, people still hold hope that he'll sign this fight. He ain't signing this one, or any other against a real top contender in his prime. Hasn't done it once since he was a lightweight.

Yep...at this point, I'm hoping this was all planned and the bout does get signed (highly unlikely though) for November 13th 2010. That seems to be the theme for me when I'm talking about Mayweather v Pacquiao...I'm always hoping.

That's pretty uncharacteristic of Pacquiao. Just making plans means there's no obligatory contract to other fights yet so I don't think that will be a problem.
