You think the economy is going to be better coming next year? Some economist are predicting another recession at the end of 2010. Imagine if that happens, people are going to be even tighter with their money.

Can we have a Floyd/Pac-free day sometime soon? just to see what it's like?

If this fight doesn't happen by the middle of next year then it'll never happen.

Floyd will never fight Pac. He had to be dragged kicking and screaming by Schaeffer into the ring to fight a 38 year old man. He plays it safe as much as possible. He can make plenty of dough outside it.

    He will duck Pac.

If the fight actually does happen I will make a post explaining why I'm such an idiot and then never come back to ESB. But I won't have to do that.

Very unlikely to see a double dip recession (though I'll be just as pleased if it does happen as it's possible to make more money in "bad" times than in good ones). Companies are hoarding cash at the moment due to uncertainty with fiscal policy out of Washington which is stimying growth, but leading to incredibly solid balance sheets in general for companies. Once policy-making becomes clearer, you'll see some of that cash getting deployed through R&D, hiring, etc., and the economy will start rolling again, until it inevitably booms and busts again on and on into the future.

It's not a reccession, it's a full blown depression. Government balance sheets are ****ed the world over and credit has been contracting since 2008 and hasn't let up since.

You'll care about it next year when it happens, and that's all that matters.

The Great Depression was one of the biggest moneymaking opportunities in the history of the world. Either way precious metals are a good enough insurance policy as I see it. Also, it's not all governments with wretched balance sheets. The bottom line is they need to get rid of the unfunded liabilities that are raping modern economies and businesses. You can't pay people for the rest of their lives once they stop working. The entitlement mentality of the masses is what's ruining economies, not just corporate greed.

In [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychology"]psychology[/ame] and [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic"]logic[/ame], rationalization (or making excuses[url][1][/url]) is the process of constructing a logical [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_justification"]justification[/ame] for a belief, decision, action that was originally arrived at through a different mental process. It is a [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_mechanism"]defense mechanism[/ame] in which perceived controversial behaviors or feelings are explained in a rational or logical manner to avoid the true explanation, to differentiate from the original deterministic explanation, of the behavior or feeling in question.[url][2][/url][url][3][/url] It is also an [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Informal_fallacy"]informal fallacy[/ame] of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reasoning"]reasoning[/ame].

This time it will be different. But you will get an opportunity to test it I'm sure. It's coming.
