Wlad has been fighting guys made for him, while Vitali is taking care of business. This is the story of Wlad's career.

Look at their respective fights this time around for instance.

Povetkin is made for Wlad. He has little to no head movement, stands right in front of his opponent, stands straight up and down, hasn't fought anybody worth mentioning except for Chambers who landed 60% of his power shots (bad news against a guy like Klitschko), lacks power, and comes in straight lines.

This won't be a competitive fight at all. He'll be on the outside eating jabs all night long, and even if he manages to get inside, he doesn't have the power to hurt Klitschko.

On the other hand look at Valuev.

Wlad Klitschko is used to being the taller and bigger fighter, therefore his defense generally consists of stepping back, typically in straight lines, leaning back and away from his shorter opponent, or tying his opponent up.

Klitschko is very muscle bound and lacks upper body agility. Against Valuev, he will be forced to move his head, as he will be the smaller opponent, facing a larger man with a great chin, and a longer reach.

Klitschko's defense of simply backing away will not work against Valuev who will jab him and land right hands. Klitschko will either be forced to work his way inside or use his footwork and upper body movement to get away from his opponent.

Klitschko typically panics when pressure is applied, and this may again be the case if Valuev manages to continually tag Klitschko because as previously stated, he lacks mobility to get away, and will have to consistantly use his gloves to block punches.

Imagine if David Haye didn't have great movement against Valuev. He would have been bludgeoned by Valuev's jab and right hands. If Klitscho's fight against very ordinary, but tall Thompson was any indication of how he would do against Valuev, Klitschko will be in a very competitive fight, as was the case against Thompson who had a bad stance, neither man went to the body, and Thompson lacked power.

Valuev has a great chin, is longer than Thompson, and I think while slower, has better boxing ability. He also has great stamina for a big man, especially considering how much pressure he puts on.

If Klitschko wants an HBO contract, he should have chose this fight. This would be competitive and Klitschko could potentially lose this fight. Instead he chose a guy that was made for him.

Is this the heart of a TRUE champion?

No...that belongs at this time to his brother Vitali.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to come in straight lines? That mother****er is controlled!

So, you're telling me that Wlad wouldn't have fought Haye over Povetkin?

    Please...

And this has nothing to do with Valuev, and a lot to do with Wlad, and especially why he's not being shown on HBO.

Is there something wrong with my analysis. I thought it was on point.

Wlad went after haye for unification. If Valuebv had beat haye.. wlad would have gone after valuev for unification. Wlad has is mand... I can see why he went after Haye.... unification... what reason would he go for valuev... plus IBF would never have agreed to it..... they agreed to Haye because of unification

your making it sound like Wlad is ducking Valuev.... its a ridiculous statement

Wlad has been fighting everyone available and dominating the division for the past decade, hasnt lost in 6 years. He is beyond the point where you can call him a "ducker" or question his dominance. Bash the division he fights in, but he has done all he can do with the division and the era he's in.

Just because you say you want to fight someone doesn't really indicate that you actually want to fight them.

I'm sure that Wlad offered Valuev a ridiculous contract, as his brother is currently doing, and Valuev didn't think it was worth his time, especially considering the contracts with Klitschko's tend to put both of them in the mix, which is absurd.

Either way, I would like to see Wlad vs Valuev. It seems like Vitali is always taking the fights that would give Wlad trouble.

um, Wlad fought Peter when everyone said he'd lose. he also made the fight with Haye that Haye backed out of with his changing injury story.

As succinct as the truth can be stated. His CV is easily better than Vitali's since the comeback. He crushed Chambers, who beat Peter, Vitali's big comeback win. Gomez is irrelevent at HW. Arreola, I would argue, has also been proven to not be top 5 calibre, whereas Chambers and Povetkin definitely are. Sosnowski is nowhere near the calibre of Wlad's last couple defenses, and neither is Johnson.

Vitali did the tougher work before his first retirement. But since his return, Wlad has fought and beaten the better fighter, in more impressive fashion.
