Dont agree with this Gaz,not at all Isn't a forum about different opinions? These popular fighters you speak of are obviously Froch,Khan and Haye. Froch has always been slated;mainly by JC fans which is understandable. Some still think he's a balloon but EVERYONE respects what he's done from a fighting perspective. The same will happen with Khan and Haye;when(IF)they step up they will get credit.I think Khan's took less abuse since he went to America and performed well. Surely you can understand why Haye is recieving critisism?
I wasn't really talking about Haye, I've said in another post in this thread he brought at least some of the criticism on himself. I'm also not talking about differing opinions on British boxers, like you say this is a forum and fair enough. I'm talking about the childish, blind hate that boxers seem to attract on this forum off half a dozen or so vocal people once they've reached a certain status in the sport. The people I'm talking about post that they want to see the fighter injured or maimed, 90% of their posts are hate posts on one particular boxer, they rarely post on other boxing subjects and they can't evaluate the boxers career or performances properly because they can only see the negative side of everything he does. Thats what I'm talking about!! (Rant over)
Ah...ok,thats fair enough.:good Popular fighters George Groves Frankie Gavin Tony Bellew These fighters are good lads with a good attitude and WHEN they make it big,I dont see them changing that much.
We'll see. Haye could do no wrong on here a few years ago either, he was being held up to Hatton and Calzaghe to to how a fighter should conduct himself and run his career. Even before the Kilt saga he was starting to get grief on here that he didn't attract on the way up. A lot changes when fighter gets into the real big time both in the decisions he (and his team) has to make and how people on here see them.
All are being pushed along nicely at the moment so hopefully it continues. Bellew in particular;obviously listens and cares what the fans think and i've alot of faith in him.
Of the successful recent British boxers, nobody has ever had a bad word to say about Richie Woodhall or Carl Thompson. At the moment, there is universal support for Enzo Maccarinelli. Good honest pros will always get the respect. The nowaday Ryan Rhodes as well perhaps.
Enzo still gets **** off Betty. I know that doesn't really count but I thought I'd point it out. I've also seen Woodhall slagged off on here by people trying to pull down Calzaghes record. Not that they actually hate Woodhall of course.....
