Berto or Bradley would be his best choices. Bradley's the top contender at 140, and Berto is the next best WW available. Both are also, prime, undefeated champions, who have headlined multiple fights on Showtime and/or HBO. However, neither are with Top Rank. Therefore, those fights are nothing but a pipedream.

You'd geneuinely want Pacquiao vs. Bradley? Why? It's a no branier. Not even the staunchest Pacquiao haters would pick Bradley over him. It doesn't add to Pacquiao's legacy either.

Then there's the obvious risk of putting him in with a dangerous fighter like Pacquiao. We've never seen Bradley against a class opponent yet and it's far too much, too soon, just to put him against Pacquiao.

And Berto would get knocked out very quickly. Bradley would too, but there are bigger issues than how easy the fight would be with him.

You're right, I'd rather see Pac fight Cotto. I wonder how that fight would turn out?

Bradley is damn near 27, has vast amatuer experience, and plenty of professional experience. He's as ready as he's ever going to be. You have to take chances if you want to be great.

This is stupid reasoning for not giving these guys a chance. We don't know exactly what will happen until they get into the ring. We do know that Cotto wasn't competitive with Pac the last time they fought, yet that fight is still being considered. So obviously that's not the problem. But hey, if Pac is looking for someone that definately will be a challenge, or looking to fight at 154, then he should fight Paul Williams or Sergio Martinez.

There are intriguing aspects of a rematch:

    - Pacquiao's best fighting weight is 140lbs and would be fighting at 154lbs.
    - Cotto is the naturally stronger man and that would be even more of an advantage at 154l.
    - Cotto would have a better trainer, who would devise a plan and add to Cotto's ability.

Those three make it an interesting fight. A straight rematch at 147lbs? Yeah, I don't want to see that either but this is intriguing and I, and many more, give Cotto a better chance than Bradley. He's not got a great chin, can't punch, is a poorer boxer than Pacquiao, has less speed...he didn't even look great against Kendall Holt or Abregu. I like him and think he's one of boxings rising stars but there's a clear gulf in talent between him and Pacquiao. If he fought Margarito or Cotto at 147lbs, two other potential Pacquiao opponents, he'd get battered and I know boxing isn't as simple as A beats B, B beats C so C must lost to A, but there is a big difference in ability.

He clearly isn't as good as he's going to be. He's shown improvement in his last 6 straight fights, yet you somehow think he's peaked? He's got a good two or three years before he reaches his peak, I think.

And if Pacquiao beats him, you think in years to come people will say "He had vast amatuer experience, and plenty of professional experience" or do you think they'll call him "unproven (at the time)". I put "at the time" in brackets because if he does fight Pacquiao, it may be the end of his career or at least at the top.
I'd prefer those fights. Margarito is a better fight too, but all are better opponents than Bradley, who has yet to beat a top class opponent.

Being harsh, who is the best fighter he's fought? Old Witter? Old Nate Campbell? Hypejobs Holt and Peterson or unknown quantity Abregu? If he beats Khan, Maidana and Alexander, he may be worth a shot. Right now, he isn't good enough to be competitive, brings no interest from fans and he adds nothing to Pacquiao's legacy, if Pacquiao beats him.

There's a reason his trainer is clearly more interested in Roach's other fighter, Khan.

Now how am I supposed to take you seriously?

Fighters normally don't peak at 30, especially when they've been fighting as long as Bradley has. He's in his peak years right now.

They'll say he beat a top rated, undefeated champ. What will they say if Pac beats a Clottey who's never beaten anyone and was coming off a loss to Cotto? What about if Pac beats a David Diaz, who's a B-/C level fighter? What about a Cotto who he just recently trashed? Or a Margarito who was trashed by Mosley, was off for 16 months, and then looked decent against a C level fighter?
I'd prefer those fights. Margarito is a better fight too, but all are better opponents than Bradley, who has yet to beat a top class opponent.

Your whole perspective is way off base. Most of the time it's not even worth it to discuss these matters with you because of this.

Yeah, because there's a slightly better chance of him actually getting a fight with Khan. If you're actually trying to suggest that Shaw wouldn't want Bradley to fight Pacquiao, then you don't understand the sport.

Yeah that's about right...Floyd beats them first (Hatton, Oscar, Mosley) then Pacquiao beat them, and he (Pacquiao) is the fighter that will be called the BEST.

    SAD!!!

Like I said, it was harsh but you simply can't say that bradley has proven himself against one elite fighter.
Since when is Shaw Bradley's trainer?

Shaw would put any fighter of his against Pacquiao, even the very worst on his books. Why? Because he's a sleazy, scumbag promoter, who doesn't care about any of his fighters.

Joel Diaz on the other hand? Why has he always been coy about a fight with Pacquiao? He's never said he wants it, he's never said Bradley could win. He knows his fighters limitations and cares about him, unlike Shaw, so wants him against the best at 140lbs.

This is the kind of talk that Floyd fans always give us.
"He shouldn't fight that guy because it would be too easy". That's some bull****.
I'm staunchly in Pac's side in this debacle with Floyd, but this mess about not fighting an undefeated champion because he's not good enough has got to stop. No one knows who would win until they fight.
This mess about a big name can only fight a big name is bunk too. Guys like Bradley and Berto are just as worthy at a title shot as anyone, be it against Floyd or Pac. We've already seen Floyd ducking these guys for the last 8 yeasr now with these same lame excuses.
If Pac wants to be remembered as a great welter or jr. welter, he needs to fight the best ones available. Not just the old guys with mileage and a big name.
Just like Floyd, Pac's proven he was great at 135 and below. Let's not start making the same excuses for him people made for Floyd, that's just going to get us another BS title reign and leave the real worthy contenders out in the cold.

Heck, Pac could fight JMM again or Sugar, to again show that Pac beats them more impressively. But I'm sure you'll have a lot of excuses.
