I can't think of another heavyweight champ who didnt fight the number 2 heavyweight. for such a prolonged period.
The Klitschkos have diluted their own legacies by acting as one boxer not 2.....
Imagine if Holyfield and Lewis were brothers or Ali and Frazier.
Vladimir isnt fighting all the contenders out there he has a henchman Vitali who is filtering half of them out....

    Good post :good

Nice technical break down , ive seen nothing of Povetkin and ive seen enough of Valuev to pass comment !!!!

I dont think Valuev is 1) quick enough to catch Wlad moving out and 2) crafty enough to time a counter well enough to cause trouble , the modern day Wlad looks to let his hands go a bit more and while you pointed out Valuev's good points in comparison to Povetkin , you forgot to mention he is a stationary target who has no movement at all , i think additionally Wlad may look to make an example of Valuev bearing in mind Haye didnt , i honestly think he blitzes Valuev , and the Povetkin fight to the neutral is something different , weve seen Valuev we know what he's about , Povetkin is undefeated !!!!

Valuev's hand speed is ridiculously slow , i just dont see any other result other than Wlad taking his head off , yes Valuev may close the distance better than most of Wlad's opponents through " size advantage " and it may look like Wlad nots having it all his own way , but what happens once he's there ??? , Valuev is not an inside fighter !!!!

I like your post :good but i must say i disgree with your analysis on Valuev and probably disagree with the fact you beleive Wlad should fight Valuev too ..........

You mean like Chagaev, Donald, Ruiz (2x) and a 58 year old Holyfield were bludgeoned by Valuevs rapid fire-like jab and straight right hammers? Oh wait all these ATGs have superior upper body movement???

But those guys also fought on the inside. So you predict that Wlad, who has never fought on the inside against ANY opponent, and in fact rarely throws uppercuts, and practically never goes to the body, even against Thompson, will all of a sudden implement their game plan of fighting on the inside?

    And you're laughing at me?

Wlad would NOT fight from the inside. Or at least he would not stay there.
To think otherwise just shows lack of boxing knowledge.
    Valuev is slow as ****.
Jab, jab, jab, right hand. Step back. Valuev still at the same place...

But if he doesn't fight Wlad on the inside, he fights him on the outside right?

Haye also fought on the outside, but he managed to not get hit because he had great upper body movement and foot speed that allowed him to get away.

Wlad doesn't have this type of mobility, especially above his waist. He'll be much easier to hit than Haye.

And considering he has a shorter reach than Valuev, he could potentially spend the majority of the fight right on the sweet spot of Valuev's punches.

Wlad - Valuev is almost a sure timber.
Wlad is scared to throw the right hand on shorter opponent because he doesn't want to go off balance.

As soon as he find out how easy Valuev is easy to hit with the right, they're gonna have to bring the custom stretcher.

The truth is Vitali knows wlad can't take a punch. So he takes all the risky fights his self. Thats why vitali is trying to get a fight with Haye. He knows haye can ko wlads weak chin. Haye should go after wlad. it is a lot easier fight for Haye. Haye should stay away from vitali.

Haye may pose some problems with his speed. I don't see any others who would give him problems though
