Americans are not as hard-up for a hero as you Euros.:deal

Joe would have been laughed out of the U.S for fighting the LOSER of an elimination bout.:rofl:rofl:rofl...only in Europe can you get away with such cowardice.

The most funniest thing that gets quoted on here by American fans is that Joe beat an over the hill Hopkins who was 7 years older than Calzaghe and Ring LHW champ and P4P #3. Yet Dawson beats lesser rated Tarver and Johnson who are like 14/15 years older and Tarver split a pair of fights with Johnson (who looked unlucky against Dawson) and lost widely to Hopkins yet gets acclaim for that. Those results show you the levels of the guys, and Calzaghe was at the top.

All wins lead to Calzaghe. Think about it.

  9. If Calzaghe was american?

He'd still be my favourite fighter...

As for anything else? Who gives a **** - there are double standards in everything.

He was a great fighter, beat everyone he faced, and retired with his money, his senses/wits and having done everything he felt he needed to do.

Could he have fought X and Y? Sure.

Probably, but he didn't - so who gives a rats ass?

Care to elaborate on this? dont get me wrong i love Joe and RJJ but they were at different stages of their careers when they were "prime" so joe never ducked him.

-also RJJ resume is a ****ing joke not all of it but if you want to slate joe then it works both ways.

-finally im pretty sure a slap from joe (forehand or the good old backhand) would have shattered RJJ chin as it was worse than a pre-pubesant Amir Khans!!

Lots of love the UK xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    RJJ >> Joe

Joe was hiding in WBO land feasting on Tokker Pudwells while Jones was in the real boxing world taking chances and becoming GREAT.

First off Joe's slaps couldn't do **** against an Old Jones ..2nd Jones dropped him and he was shot who's chin should really be in question better yet no power BHOPS drops him yet Jones had a china chin :think

And Jones resume is a joke ? Put up the number of hall of famers Jones fought as opposed to Joe's better yet world champs than get back to me !!:good

get real they were flash knockdowns that joe got hit with i will admit that he got caught up in the moment as he hadnt fought on that stage before but they were not heavy shots!

joe does not have a china chin it was never really tested.Yes RJJ fought excellent fighters but also shite opponents even as a fan you surely must admit this!

Joe fought everyone that was put infront of him and beat them,he retired an unbeaten legend in the eyes of many. If he was in the super 6 now (he should be,admittedly he retired too early) he would be the top dog but that still wouldnt silence his critics.

(last thing.....to whomever said joe retired early due to the likes of Froch???!! come on thats a whole other arguement!!!!)

Flash huh from a shot Jones and no power Hopkins ! He made both of them looking like Tyson in those fights .. **** opponents yeah I will agree there were a few both were guilty of that but Joe has more of them .Jones beat everyone put in fron of him as well all the way up to heavy he didn't start losing until then ..He always fought naturally bigger men ..

give over trolling imperial, jones knocked a shot to **** calzaghe down with an illegal forearm only for corrupt hometown officating to rule it a knockdown :-(. what impressed me about calzaghe was that everyone knows you can demolish jones with power shots to his fragile glass jaw but no one had ever seen jones get his head boxed off by superior skills. a shot to **** joe got up from that fraudulent knockdown and lacyied jones for 12 rounds, the gulf in class was huge :vonnecunt

hopkins caught calzaghe square on, credit to hopkins hes a smart fighter as can be seen by the lessons he dished out to wright, tarver and pavlik in between his loss to calzaghe. however calzaghe was no american hypejob, he got up and beat hopkins on foreign soil in his 1st fight at light heavyweight :deal
