Hmmmm... both great fights in their own right. Why did you think of this comparison?

I kind of cringe when i watch Ali Frazier III though... i feel beat down after watching it

I would say Ali vs Frazier III. It didn't have the super dramatic finish of Corrales-Castillo I, but it was fought at a higher level, and it meant a lot more historically/to both the fighters involved.

Love both fights. Slight edge to Ali-Frazier lll, my second favorite fight, behind Hagler-Hearns. Castillo-Corrales l is my third.

I think the question requires the average poster to think too much and they are avoiding it. How else can you explain so few responses.

Al-Frazier III decided the title of greatest heavyweight of a generation, lasted longer, and has a historic context surrounding it that make it almost incomparable to any other.

I live Chico (RIP), but Ali-Frazier gets my vote.

Chico -Castillo. for me, **** was like a movie and that fight is responsible for turning me from a casual into a religious follower of the sport. It was a boring saturday night and i decided to watch these 2 fighters i barley knew.

They're my top 2 fights. I prefer Corrales-Castillo 1. Third would probably be Moore-Durelle 1, with fights like Saad's first fight with Johnson and 2nd fight with Lopez not too far behind.

In terms of the level of the fighters and the historical importance of the bout then it has to be Ali-Frazier III, but the Corrales-Castillo fight was clearly a better contest in my eyes (the ending sets it apart - back from the brink stuff).

In fact as a spectacle, setting aside the calibre of the fighters (and its not as if Diego and Jose Luis were journeymen), Corrales-Castillo I is probably the best fight I have ever watched.

Just on the quality of Ali and Frazier, that was a greater fight. Same as Hagler and Hearns. When you have top guys like Ali,Frazier,Hagler,Hearns, the fights are better just on the higher level.

Cintron vs Williams because of it's dramatic ending.
