I know Povetkin is not an interesting match, but Wlad vs Peter II is a waste. Peter is not strong willed. Some people lose and it makes them better and more determined, but Peter is not one of those guys. Yes, he dropped Wlad a few times, but he still lost. Since their last fight, Wlad has learned to become more comfortable and Peter has learned how to quit.
not much choice in the date if Peter steps in. stadium, tv, everything is set. Its 7.5 weeks away. i think sam can get ready I do know, K2 has petitioned to have Povetkin removed. Everyone (inlcuding the IBF) is scared that his "NO SHOW" is a sign of things to come. No one wants another Povetkin "Pullout" like last time when Rahman stepped in
I'll bet he can't show evidence he ever made reservations to come to the press conference. If he can, THEN I would give him the benefit of the doubt. But I'll bet he can't.
I think thats exactly what they want proof of.. (your good buddy). forget a doctor saying YES he was/is sick... anyone could get that... Im sure if Povetkin gets pushed aside, there will be lawsuits all over the place... I just dont see why Povetkin does just man up and say..."im not ready right now"... "thanks for the chance to fight for the world championship, but Im not ready for it now". I think he would get a lot more respect for that then how its been so far... backed out of 1 fight (rahman stepped in) kept pushing for more time and tune up fights (2 years now) then doesnt show to the PC ... I think we all see the writing on the wall here
learned to quit??? He was getting his ****ing brains beat the **** in with no hope to win, he has had what 5 fights since then and not quit! He was getting beat from pillar to post against chambers and did not quit
The real problem here is that it is usually easier to do something the second time. Sounds like Wlad is on top of it. Arum got criticized for saying promoters don't do their jobs building up fan basis for their fighters. Wlad has no choice. He is both. Now he is pissed on TWO levels. :yep
I guess this should be of little suprise, considering the stance Atlas has been maintaining on how Sasha needs more preparation bouts.
He did not officially retire form the fight, but he gave up trying to win. He has an, "it's okay to lose mentality" now. It's like I said, some fighters get stronger after losing, some find out that it's not a big deal to them. I think Peter is the latter.
I feel sorry for whoever Wlad does face in November, because he's going to come in pissed on a number of levels.
Hmm.. He has redicated his self to training now that he is with top rank. He has sued duva for over 400 grand that he thought he was due from the vitali fight but I doubt you know anything about that huh? Peter wanted out from duva and had the I don't give a **** attitude
We've heard versions of that tune before... so and so has rededicated himself, knocks out a few bums... then goes back to being lackluster. But, I hope you are right. I hope Peter does improve. Boxing could use some more dedicated heavyweights..
we should know tomorrow if the IBF has removed Povetkin and Peter is set. The Request was sent in and it was 24-48 hours for a decision.
