    Come one, come all, step on up and play the "Discredit the Legend" game.

    It's a game I came up with that I like to play with my boxing friends sometimes. I got the idea from message boards like this where people carefully construct colored critiques of fighters they hate by attacking their opposition.

    It's basically a sarcastic form of boxing trivia where we attempt to make every boxer in history look overrated by coming up with any justification we can to dismiss every signature opponent they've ever fought. The end result is that we factually conclude that every fighter in history...sucks.

    Why shouldn't that win count? Was the opponent too small? Too old? Just recently KO'ed? Went on to lose every fight afterward? weight drained? Out of shape? Pre-prime? So badly beaten he couldn't have been that good in the first place? Stylistically tailor-made (a personal favorite excuse)? All excuses are valid here.

    Pick a major name (active or retired) and get to smashing. Bonus points for anybody brave enough to take on Ali or Robinson.

    Ali also lost to Ken Norton another two times, lost to crackhead Spinks and got knocked down by Chuck Wepner.

    Pacquiao was one dimensional until old Morales outboxed him. Before that, he fought faded Mexicans that were tough but very much on their downside.

    , so you cant really talk about Calzaghe who got **** scared of Carl Froch when Froch became his WBC SMW mandatory. Then when the SMW division began to gain good fighters like Ward, AA, Dirrell, Pavlik, Bute and Froch, decided to run away and do cocaine. And retired when fights with BHop2, Dawson, Froch, Pavlik could have easily been made. And got floored by a real legend in RJJ

    I'd call Joe Calzaghe an overrated cokehead, who was protected his ENTIRE manipulated career....but he's not even close to a legend.


    So I'll say James Toney got outboxed by Sam Peter.

    It's less about the losses a legend suffereed (which really do all the discrediting work for themselves), and more about the top wins, at least the wins we thought were top wins, until someone set us straight!
