Same here. Peter is an interesting fight, I'm looking forward to it. But at the same time, man I wanted Wlad to shut Teddy Atlas up.
I was looking forward to Povetkin getting his arse handed to him...I would rather see Valuev than Peter and that is saying something
Chef, I know it's the IBF. But as Wlad is the WBO champ, I thought WBO might have a say. All I was asking is if that was considered.
I also would love Valuev in there... BUT... like I said.. IBF rule states #2 goes next.... thats peter
No. I wish it could be. This is a sanction IBF fight even though the WBO belt is on the line.... The WBO has no say... just like when Wlad fought Chambers. That was WBO mand and the IBF had no say in it. If this was a voluntary fight, that would be totally different, but its a IBF mand.. so IBF rules apply.
Diehard - have you heard about the trouble in Tua's management? Do you think Tua may now "box-off" for Povetkin's spot in the WBO?
He's also the heavy favorite to land the role of King Hippo in the Hollywood blockbuster production of Punch Out!!
ignorant post,, Peter has been under 240 for his last couple of fights and he did win the wbc belt so how is he complete dog**** when two of his 3 loses came against the two best heavies today and he third lose came against a top 10 heavy.
some brits just celebrating already cause they know Peter would ktfo Haye and that this fight now most likely will never happen.
Read elsewhere Povetkin's team wasn't happy with Wlad's 'antics' at the press conference. They gotta be REAL unhappy with his antics now. :yep
Povetkin is a little ****ing *****. Mandatory for eons....a chance to fight for the most prestigious title in sports and instead of jumping at the opportunity that any fighter in history would kill for he does everything possible to get out of his chance at glory, what a pile of ****.
