I had an interesting call this morning in the aftermath of last nights fight from a very well respected Muay Thai fighter. He is a 6 times world champ and stated if Green wants a real body in his next fight he would be happy to box (thats right Queensbury rules) him for his title or whatever else he has to offer. Maybe the worlds best Muay Thai fighter at cruiser against the Green machine would tickle ones fancy. I am talking of Nathan Corbett, handy with his hands and a better warrior in the real sense you won't find, also active currently.
    What do you all think??

Rod whats your take on last nights fight.

I ask this as your often blamed for disrupting Pauls climb to the top with your own run ins.

Under boxing rules Green would spank Corbett senseless.

The kick-boxer vs boxer thing has been done too many times already and usually works out the same way - John Wayne Parr being one of the few exceptions.

Interesting reply and you are right in your assertions but would the public go for it? There is clauses in most world boxing organisations bylaws that an opponent of a different fighting style who is a world champion can fight for a boxing world title without going through the elimination processes. I'm not sure on the IBO rules but definetly the WBC have that option in play.

I believe Paul had a mental breakdown of some sort and I can't believe for one moment he dogged it.

I would like to clear the air here on my situation with Paul. We seperated and went our seperate ways prior to my indisgressions and Paul thought that the grass was going to be greener (excuse the pun) on the american side of the ditch. His new management company at the time saw to that. I had Paul for 18 fights and his record was unblemished during that time, with 18 wins and 16 by KO. Obviously Paul has slipped a million miles since those days and hopefully I can't be blamed for that. When Paul left the Fistic Fury camp it was a huge shock to everyone involved, especially myself.

I would like to add one other thing in regards to Corbett fighting Green. Couldofbeen states it all been done before and in some cases he may be right, John Wayne being his prime example. Don't forget that Briggs is in the same boat, both Nathan and Paul were kick boxers come Muay Thai guys before taking up boxing. Pauls first fight with Fistic Fury was against a guy who had 21 wins and 21 ko's on his record and Paul stopped him in 7 rounds. There are kick boxers and there are Kick boxers, some have what it takes and as in boxing, some don't. Nathan Corbett has what it takes to be a great boxer but that is only my opinion.

In response to this statement i have to say i personally thought paul's best work came when he was under your tutelage and wonder what could have been had he stuck with you all the way...anyway we will never know..
secondly i would definately be interested in watching Corbett v Green i am a huge Corbett fan. i think Green will beat him in queensbury rules but lets face it, Green is obviously not serious about fighting world class boxers (if he takes the cameron fight he will flog shane on last nights performance) so if he hasnt got the nads to step up against the best boxers i would watch him against the best muay thai fighter...on the proviso that it aint a $50 PPV...

    Hi guys.

I have been on this site for a millenium but I only ask out of curiosity,

Why is Rod Waterhouse suddenly on here as a complete newbie with 8 posts ?

    Have i missed something ?

If he truly is the real Waterhouse so be it. Just seems a bit odd

Well it is me and I haven't had much of an interest for a couple of years but who knows maybe I'll train Corbett if he takes up boxing.

What the **** rob, Corbett won't even spar Les sherrington and you think he is going to beat a fighter like green in boxing. He would not even beat the Aussie 200 champion at boxing. Corbett needs to move to HW and try to win K1 world thing in Japan,

Hey TCW I never said he would beat Green just that he would really have a fighters chance and the kid has the ability to beat any cruiser at MT and KB and it would be an interesting fight. Definetly better than a 29 sec blowout. On the issue of not sparring Les, he has never had reason, but I know where I would put my dollars if they were to have a fair dinkum stink.

Joe, when I saw that there was a weight clause in the Briggs fight I knew there was something amiss. If you fight for a world title at cruiser, that is the weight and Briggs had every right to weigh whatever he liked for a world title as long as it was Cruiser weight. Catch weights for World titles is Bull****!! A few years back Cruiser was 86.16 Kgs but this is 2010. It just goes to show how mickey mouse the fight really was!
