no really before you go on with your opinion of oh byrd would get smashed really think about it... Byrd has trouble only with men that are significantly larger than him... this could very well be a winnable fight for Byrd if hes at his best (before he fought Wlad)

When Byrd held the IBF in the early 2000's I could see him beat that version of Tyson

Well actually I see this as the second phase of Byrds career.. I think he was better when he remained elusive he has a great ability to avoid punches

If it's a prime Tyson then not a ****ing chance. The Tyson at the end of his career would probably lose to Byrd or foul out

Tyson at his peak would have smashed Byrd, I'm not one those guys that thinks he was the GOAT H2H but he would definitely be too much for Byrd.

Chris Byrd was the nicest and most well behaved HW champion in history.

That said, he made a living by potshotting and counter punching. And his featherfists didnt really equate to anything in a counter, except maybe the points.
I gotta like Mike to walk through a Byrd potshot, while launching a tight left hook. Byrd slips to avoid a R feint and walks into the L.

Ref stops counting at 3, and pulls the mouthpeice out of the seizing Byrd's mouth.

    Tyson KO1!

But hey, I really like Byrd. I'd take him out fishing with me.

    Yeah.

Pitting these mortal fighters against Mike is just plain nuts. I'm talking bout Teh Tyson in his PRIME!11.

    Crazy, insane thread.

Byrd was as good as he was because the guys had a hard time hitting him, too slick too fast.

Tyson wouldn't have a problem with that, he's too fast, too accurate. Tyson's chin is good enough to allow him to pretty much walk in and throw some nasty body punches (or whatever he wants) which would probably double Byrd over for a KO1.

Tyson walks through that clown and blows him away within 3. Turd had nothing to deter Mike with, and any edge in speed Turd had over most heavys, he doesnt have over Tyson.

byrd is imo one of the best defense and slickest heavyweights in the last 50 years. and he had a hell of a chin + very difficult to get hit clean. to be honest i think he would outpoint mike. mike would get frustrated after a couple of rounds, because he couldn't hit byrd flush and byrd would be provocating him with his ugly smiling, some mike would start some crazy ****. i even think that only klitschkos, lewis and bowe would beat byrd
