At first i was pissed like everyone else but after watching the punch in slow motion over and over im actually convinced Briggs was legitimately hurt. It was just one of those freak punches(grazing jabs:yep), right place right time together with briggs lack of conditioning and apparent health problems. Let the name calling begin.
his last step , his legs did wobble.... :think he shouldnt have got in the ring, shouldnt have talked **** about being able to beat green. everybody loses :|
Cmon it doesnt take that much acting skill to fake wobbly legs. Give it a try yourself Marcus, you'll be surprised how well you can act. If you cant, then I guess you'll be stuck with doing D grade porn for the rest of your life.
I don't for one second believe that Briggs took a dive. You're talking about a guy who fought for a Muay Thai world title at 16 against a legend, and went 24 life and death rounds with Adamek. Unfortunately Paul was NEVER the same after those Adamek fights. I've known for a long time that his punch resistence was zero (have been told by many people). Briggs originally retired because his adrenal system and nervous system had both crashed. So he had blurred vision, loss of balance etc. That's exactly how he looked in his preparations (by all reports - have been told by a reliable witness he was KO'd in sparring) and how he "fought" last night. Disappointing that a real warrior goes out like this and will be remembered and measured by general punters like that. Not by genuine fight fans IMO.
Don't bet on things like that mate. Picking rounds is for mugs IMO. Some of the comments I've read on this board have made me laugh though. It was a bad night for boxing, but I'll bet anything you like he never took a dive. To me that's the greatest slur you can put on a fighter like Briggs. The fact of the matter is that he should never have been in the ring in the first place.
why then is green copping the ****? his trainer that sly piece of crap should not have let him in the ring? fenech has just said on foxsport that briggs got KO'd so blame green? doesn't add up you petty thief? you were in his corner- it was there on fox sports last night fenech, so why did you let him get in the ring?
If you have to watch a punch over and over in slow motion for it to convince you that it was worth a knockout then the chances are that it wasnt worth a knockout. Slow motion only tells you that it did connect. Normal Speed tells you that it barely connected and that there was absolutely no force behind it.
Just that you said he knew his punch resistance was zero, and going in against a big puncher i thought you may have bet on 1st round KO. Im just a little perplexed that everyone seams to know a lot after the fight happened. But didnt say too much before hand.
