This sucks. Even though that Peter is not a horrible contender - but he has already been beaten by Wlad. Klitschko demolishing Povetkin not only would be great to see from a boxing point of view, but hopefully would shut those Russians up on the forums that hail Pov as the greatest and Klitschko as a bum.
atsch wtf...WLad has already beat Peter...Vitali did, Chambers did, Mcline almost did, Toney should have won... Povetkin at least brings an undefeated record...
What can you do - he won't sign the contract. The venue is set, ticket sales began yesterday, not much time left for training. Wait a little longer and you end up with huge financial losses. Project all of this on yourself and you will understand.
I'm with you Big Red :huh I've been away from boxing news for 48hrs. I have some catching up to do :blood Wlad DESTROYS the psychologically damaged Peter the second time around :bbb What the hell happened :huh
Hey Chef :hi: WOW I'm glad it's on ESPN. I cancelled my subscription to HBO. If they ever do show a fight I want to see I'll just get a motel room that has HBO. I'm betting Wlad destroys Peter in a rematch :yep :bbb:good
This fight is only 3 weeks after Adamek-Grant. Both fights could end up being warm-up fights for a showdown with Wlad-Adamek in early 2010.
Or Shufford. Watched that fight todsy as it happens - I prefer watching that version to the current one.
So is Povetkin definitley a no go? I never thought he stood a chnce to be honest. I'd rather see him fight a Chagaev or Haye. It would be nice to see him have a title shot down the line but I don't think he is ready yet.
No way. The current Wlad is much better. Better footwork, better defensive, better boxing skills, better condition. Great to see him with Emanuel Steward in his corner.
