Name: Kazuto Ioka Record: 4-0 (2 KO's) Overview: The 21 year old nephew of former two time 'world' champion Hiroki Ioka had a illustrious junior amateur career and in the pro ranks is ambitiously looking at winning a 'world' title in record time. After just 4 fights he is ranked by both the WBC and WBA (currently #10 with the WBC, #12 with the WBA), and beat a top 10 ranked fighter (Takashi Kunishige) by unanimous decision in just his 3rd fight. Last fight: A wide UD over Heri Amol. Ioka controlled the fight convincingly, up until the later stages when he began to get tagged by Amol. The 8th round was the closest round of the fight, and Amol managed to floor Ioka late in the 9th round. Ioka regained his composure to sweep the last round and take a clear decision, but there are question marks about Ioka's ability to take a punch. Who you want him to fight next: He already has a fight scheduled against Albert Alcoy, but I would like him to take gradual steps up in competition to prepare him for a 'world' title fight. Ioka's team want to get him a title shot this year, but I would get him 4-5 more fights for experience, and hopefully the knockdown in his last fight has convinced them to slow his progress down a bit. Potential: A 'world' title challenger/short term title holder. I have no doubt that he will get a opportunity, but with Japan only recognising the WBA and WBC, he has less options to choose from. His inexperience may cost him, but I feel he has the ability to compete with the top guys in the division.
Name:Luis Ramos Jnr Record:16-0 8KO's Overview:Ramos aged 22 is a Mexican Light Welterweight Southpaw who fights under the promotional guidance of Goldenboy Promotions. Ramos has compiled a record of 16 wins in his short career. He hasn't put a foot wrong but at same time has been anything but spectacular. Ramos is a more efficient and refined technician. He is very much like ''Dinamita'' uses beautiful combinations and can change angles of his punches with sheer ease. He also reminds me of Juan Diaz in way he likes to work on inside. He has nice footwork and good pocket skills. Lacks big power but has respectful power. He holds wins over notable journeyman Walter Estrada and Baudel Cardenas. He is a product of the GoldenBoy Fight Nightsand is steadily going about working his way up rankings. He hasn't fought over 10 rounds of yet so that will be next step. Last fight:Joshua Allotey16-9-0 Who you want him to fight next:Well for me it's time for Luis to step up to 10 round action. Preferably as Main Event on GBP Fight Night or on Major Undercard. There's no rush for him but it's now time to step up and put him in a bout with a guy who has winning record. So i'd plump for Ernest Johnson. Lost his last 2 but he loses to good operators. Doesn't fall over. If he can win..he wins. It would push Ramos. Potential: World Champion Light Welterweight 2012. Works well on back foot. Can work in pocket. Well schooled. Promoters know how to get fighters to shots at title without being subjected to long arduous battles.
Name: Takashei Okada Record: 2-0-1 (1) Overview: A awkward fast handed fighter who makes the best of what he has. From what I have seen he makes the most of his fast hands by throwing lots of punches and getting off first, really tough and gritty fighter. Lacks power but that could be down to technique as he highly favours quantity over quality, but with his workrate and willingness to throw this works well. Last fight: A major upset over McWilliams Arroyo touted as a potential Puerto Rican favrouite. Although it was very close the judges favoured Okada's workrate and a questionable KD to cinch it for Okada. Really showed his guts and character as basically coming into the fight as fodder. It was a great fight. Who you want him to fight next: Rematch with Arroyo. The first was a classic. A step up to 6 and 8 rounders should also be in the very near future IMO and he needs to get busier. Although he might be learning his trade through sparring just now, which aint all bad. Potential: Definitly can get somewhere. He was used a sparring partner for Mayol on the back of his win over Arroyo so will definitly be learning alot. To me his lack of technique in punching was a flaw as the style he implements could not be sustained for 12 rounds and Arroyo's clearner pucnhing in their bout did much more effect than the tip-taps coming back at him. I do not see him getting much further than a fringe contender.
Name: Erislandy Lara Record: 12-0(7KO's) Overview: Superb Cuban amateur, won the World Champs in 2005. Turned pro 2009 and had 9 fights that year, kept busy. Famously, he allegedly whipped Ricky Hatton in sparring pre-pacman, and was asked to leave the camp. This as a 4 fight pro! Beat Grady Brewer by KO, dominated Danny Perez. Southpaw, has already been 10 rounds 3 times. Fights at Light-Middle Last fight: KO1 William Corea (8-3) at the time Who you want him to fight next: Either Daniel Santos who IMO is on the way out and ready for the taking soon or someone like Sechew Powell who has won his last 3 and would be a real test. Either would show clearly if hes ready for that step up soon to title level. Potential: Could be a World Champ for sure and stay at that level for a few years. Could lack a bit of power to put away the likes of Margarito though.
Name: Gennady Golovkin Record: 18-0(15KOs) Overview: A decorated amateur. Won gold at the World Championships in 2003 and silver at the 2004 Olympics at Middleweight for Kazakhstan. Owns wins in his amateur career over Lucian Bute, Andre Dirrell, Andy Lee, Matt Korobov and Yordanis Despaigne. Turned pro in 2006 and hasn't had a hiccup, although his opposition hasn't been stellar (but who's is?). I'd say his best win is over Canadian Ian Gardner, who took Abraham the distance and was stopped late by Chad Dawson. Golvokin won a UD over 8. Not your typical Euro fighter imo. He uses good head movement and reflexes to slip punches and make opponents miss. In fact he rarely seems to be hit clean. He's technically sound as you would expect of a an amateur of his calibre, with decent hand speed and power. Seems to pick his punches well, working the head and body with accurate punches. Last fight: KOed undefeated Russian Mikail Makarov in 2. Makarov had a padded record and Golovkin had no problems getting rid of him. Who you want him to fight next: Well he is scheduled for an interim WBA Middleweight title bout against Colombian Milton Nunez. Nunez' record is a joke to say the least, filled with wins over guys making their debuts or boxers with 0 wins. Has only faced 3 fighters with winning records and one of them knocked him out in a round. However after that he should be truly on the world stage and so a fight against any top Middleweight figher will suffice. Being interim champ at that point, a bout with Felix Sturm should hopefully occur. Potential: World Class. Will pick up a belt at the very least.
Name: Frankie Gavin Record: 7-0 ( 6 KO's) Overview: A highly decorated amateur and Britians only ever world amateur champion, He won it by being the first man to defeat Alexiy Tishenko in over 3 years, He also beat highly ranked Domencio Valentino along the way, He had previously dominated the domestic scene prior to winning the coveted world title. Last fight: An excellent win over the usually very game and durable Gavin Tait, Tait was coming in on the back of three straight victories so this was a step up for Frankie especially over 8 rounds too. Tait never really got a chance and was stopped through a very hurtful body shot in the first round. Who you want him to fight next: Personally I'd like to see him fight Steve Williams or David Barnes. If they can't be made then maybe Andy Murray for the Irish title.Once he's at 12 round level I feel we'll see the best of Frankie. Potential: Without doubt the best prospect in Britian, He has all the tools and has shown the dedication needed by moving away from his beloved Birmingham. I feel he's nailed on for a world championship at 2 weights. Boxing is all about the right fights at the right times and in the team Frankie has behind him I know he'll have that part sewn up for him..
Do you not think there's a massive gulf in class between Williams and Barnes? In my opinion, Gavin absolutely dominates Williams. Barnes would be much more tricky, but still a win for Frankie. Just seems a strange pair to suggest as potential opponents with one being so much better than the other. Personally, I think Barnes or Lynes should be the next step for Frankie. In your opinion Bomber, how long before Frankie's ready for Daws?
I think he'd beat Daws now, First he needs to feelcomfortable doing 12 rounds although he looks great doing it in the gym.. I like the Williams fight as he keeps coming but I only mentioned barnes as he said he'd like to fight frankie?? he was offered the fight the next day and then went on to say he'd need a warm up fight??:roll:?? I think with that in mind I'd say someone like Williams,Watson or maybe Grant?? I like the fight with the 2 irish kids too, Murray and can't think of the other guys name?? he's 8-1 I think?? It makes no difference to frankie though cos either way he's made his transition in such rapid pace!! Name: Dennis Penelton Record: 0-2 Overview: Had a fairly short amateur career before turning pro. So far, he has had 2 fights in the pro game and has lost both of them in the first round. Has a very unorthodox style, which can surprise his opponents at first. Last fight: Stopped in the first round against prospect Seanie Monaghan. He won the first minute of the round, as he bamboozled Monaghan with flurries of punches, but once he was hit it was all over. Who you want him to fight next: A top prospect that will get him more airtime. Potential: The next Eric Crumble.
my one worry about Frankie and I know im gonna sound like a twat.....he looks like a little kid. Agaisnt tough men like Tim Braldey and Marcos Maidana he will jsut get blown away. hope i am wrong

Name: Rico Ramos Record: 16-0 9 ko Overview: was a golden golves silver medallist and U.S. national silver also. was expected to make the olympic squad but was beaten in his final qualifier. fights at super bantam and has stepped up his level of competition recently. defeated two time "world" champ kermin guardia in his 13th fight and was a clear winner against fellow prospect alejandro perez in his 14th. Kid is fast and always throws 3 and 4 punch combos. Has only stopped one of his last 4 opponents though although he dropped reynaldo lopez twice Last fight: took on reynaldo lopez 30-7. dropped lopez twice and was a clear points winner Who you want him to fight next: fights cauthemoc vargas (15-3-1) tonight on espn. expect him to get a victory but will be interesting to see whether he goes the distance or scores the KO. Provided he gets the win Id like to see him in against someone like mtagwa after. Potential:Hes fun to watch and has good exposure on showtime and espn. Think he will definitely be a world champion. Is managed by Al Haymon so hes certainly going to get the chance
