More deserving of a title shot then Audley Harrison.

True, but when did "deserving" guarantee a title shot?;)

Don't forget Haye-Harrison still isn't signed, it could end up like Ricky Hatton-Gavin Rees. People getting worked up for nothing.

Always take a look in here at what the hardcore are thinking, and I have to say Buncey is loaded full to the brim of shite on this one, and I like Buncey too. To be honest tho I think he knows it too because the argument he's putting up is the oldest defence mechanism in the trade. Yes it's a tough business Steve and it always has been, but if you go around wearing clothing depicting a decapitated 'potential' future opponent then you need to have the balls to match your gob. And you and I know Haye was made a very good offer for the fight, and let's face it, it shouldn't even be close to a 50-50 split anyway. If he beats a Klitschko or at least puts up a good show well then he can start asking for Billy big bollox money.

Oh, and I see both points of view, but mainly because he's the underdog and has made some good posts in this thread, I'll go with Rob.

I'm a massive Bunce fan and see his point exactly. But the difference between 10 and 10.5 mill for instance.......well, I think if it was something like that then Haye should rightly be accused of ducking.

Your so wrong. The general forum sums up what the majority of hardcore fans think. You will see the same "Haye is a coward" threads on every boxing forum. Dan Rafael, Steve Kim and Kevin Iole have all think Haye is a joke.

Its pretty sad to see but its seems allot of british fans have turned against Haye. If he fights Audley he is basically a UK version of Danny Green.

The fight was just as dangerous to Haye's health last year when he signed up to it for a fraction of what the recent offer must have been.

I'm a massive Haye fan and i can definitely understand Haye wants to make as much money as possible, but on the flip side of Bunce's analogy if i was offered a job i wanted one year ago and then offered the same job for 10-20 times as much money a year later i would have signed the contract before the ink had dried :deal

properly got into it as in reading magazines and posting on here in 2005. main fights that made me "hardcore" were Calzaghe vs Lacy, Hatton vs Tysuzu, Amir Khan olympics, Tyson vs Williams but I watched Haye's debut on bbc and watched all his fights. i was 13-14 then and just thought he seemed a cool guy.

if Haye vs Harrison gets made next I will 100% walk away btw. Will be the final straw with boxing.

If im right in thinking the reason for this fight not being made is down to Haye wanting UK tv revenues in return for Wlad taking German revenues, then it seems fair to me.

If Wlad really wanted this fight, surely he would just accept that deal. It's not like it really unfair is it?

I definitely agree with Rob on this one.

Haye is quickly becoming a bit of a party piece, along the lines of our 3rd rate footballers and rugby players like Gavin Henson and Danny Cipriani.

I don't begrudge him wanting to make as much money as he can - as someone else said on the last page - he was more than willing to sign up last year for what was likely to be a pretty weak purse..... all about the glory and getting a Klitschko in the ring.

Now, he has his title, has made a few quid out of it and thinks he's Sugar Ray Leonard dictating terms to Marvin Hagler. The difference is that Hagler was desperate to fight him, Leonard knew it..... here, you've got Klitschko who would make millions fighting anybody he wanted, thinks Haye is a bit of a dick and probably believes that whilst the money is great it isn't worth the hassle.

Three routine defences would net him as much as a pair of risky-ish fights with David.

There is enough money to go around, just get on with it already, because you are making yourself look like a grade A, money grabbing *****.

The same goes for Mayweather & Pacquiao too

I suggest until anyone on here who is not a boxer becomes a paid fighter, and faces a Klit (regardless of how boring they can be, they can still bang to ****) think about what you are saying. Risk/reward has to be right when you are fighting at that level. No one is stupid enough to say that boxers don't klnow the risks when they fight, which is why, if they are in a position to do so, they are more than entitled to decided what is right for them in terms of remuneration.
