If the fight comes off, I will be sure Arum & PBF planned for the pac-pbf fight to not happen this year. They both win. PBF gets a big payday with Cotto and is a strong favourite, Arum gets a payday from both cotto, margo & pac and then setup pac-pbf next year.
I don't think this fight will happen because FMJ will probably ask for a purse split of 70-30 or 80-20. If by some miracle this fight does happen, FMJ by UD due to Cotto getting cut up again.
cotto has that jab, but he is too flat footed, and isn't going to be able to go over the top like mosley did he could always get a left hook through, but he hasn't had the pop on it like he did at 140, and i think it would take more than one to KO floyd floyd should not have any problems, but cotto always has that small chance
If Floyd takes this fight I will be VERY happy. Is it as good as a match with Paquiao? No. But I see it as one of the better options that doesn't involve the Pac-man. Sure this may not be the best Cotto around, but if he is slipping he hasn't slipped that far... However, if Floyd fights Cotto and Pacquiao fights Margarito Floyd will once again have a huge lead on PPV numbers. I hope Pacquiao fights Paul Williams instead, I think that match could make some serious money. Maybe PW isn't a huge pull, but the fight is dangerous enough that I think the word could spread. People like a competitive boxing match...
Why oh why is this even being discussed? 1. Cotto is with Arum. 2. Floyd is on "vacation". 3. Do you still really need a third reason?
If you think it's a given that Floyd-Cotto outsells Pacquiao-Margarito, you're in for a shock. Maybe you don't think Mexicans won't factor in as much as Puerto Ricans would? That's a terrible assumption if you ask me.

Man interesting fight, but I don't think anyone expects Cotto to win. If this crap goes down it would say to me that maybe FMJ and Bob Arum have been yanking our chains all along. I would still get it though. If Cotto does drug testing? Wow. Pac will look like pure culo.
