Would you be surprised if Mayweather vs. Cotto is made for December?

I would be surprised, but it would actually make sense. With the winner fighting the PAC-Margarito winner..........:deal

How silly is he going to look coming out of vacation just after Pac and Cotto/Margarito is announced only to announce that he is now ready to fight:patsch

The stench of ***** will permeate the air.

I would say bob ayrum realizes all his boys are getting into their mid 30s now, so he wants to cash them out before they all retire. Floyd used to be an employee of Top Rank.

On one hand, I can't see Arum negotiating successfully with Mayweather & Golden Boy after Team Mayweather **** themselves when it came to the crunch about making the Pacquiao-Floyd superfight.

On the other hand, as Floyd seems intent on shamelessly and openly ducking Pacquiao, this fight makes sense for him, it fits his opponent criteria. Cotto is a fight he would surely win, and he has a huge fanbase which equals good ppv numbers, and ppv numbers seem to have become Floyd's quest and how he defines himself as a fighter... as long as the opponent makes it a safe bet.

Thus, in one way I can't imagine it working out, yet in another it seems pretty logical.

I'd be stunned. This has to be one of the most disappointing years of boxing for me since I started following the sport, and it just seems to be getting worse on the matchmaking front.

I don't see why Arum would stop it from happening as it makes him a lot of money. Mayweather's remaining dignity goes below the seafloor though.

Mayweather going after Pacquiao's leftovers ? No but seriously they could both get a belt at 154lbs, setting up a possible unification fight next Spring.

Anyways, is Mayweather really more open to do business with Arum when it's about Cotto ?

I find it odd that Arum would be willing to work with Floyd to make this fight, yet is so "angry" over the latest negotiations. I think it's odd that many view Cotto as an "easy" win for PBF, yet out of the other side of their mouth say Floyd ducked Cotto or consider him a viable opponent for Manny. I hope he doesn't fight Cotto and I really hope doesn't fight until next spring against Manny.

I hope this fight happens and Cotto breaks floyd's rib with a body shot and stops him.

    I really really do.

Which would explain why Arum was so ****ing nice in not blaming Floyd for ducking out of the Pac fight!

i don't see it happening. as pointned out, they couldn't work out Floyd and Manny, so how could they work out Floyd and Miguel? I doubt Bob would give Floyd the chance to score a good payday off one of his guys if it's not the MAX possible like a fight against Manny.
