No one's gotten off scott free just yet LJD.

Because this stinks so bad on so many fronts there'll have to be blame & punishment issued - it's just a matter of how long it takes and who.

He may as well have because if it wasn't him then it would have been some other old retired guy involved in the farce.

The more Danny addresses the public, the more he makes himself look like a ******. Yesterday he chose his words carefully and still came across as a mess of contradictions.

I really dont know how this guy has any fans. Only family or complete spastics would continue to support this hollow phoney piece of ****.

It seems everyone is pretty much in agreeance over this fight for once, give or take a few minor differences. Just about everyone on this forum knew the fight was a farce long before it happened. For years it has baffeled me as to why Green still pulls crowds in Australia? Now he's even promoting his own fights. Hopefully now even his loyal WA fans will take a 2nd look.

    News: Paul Briggs
    c/o East Side Boxing

Serious questions have been raised after a shocking ending in which Paul Briggs failed to beat the count after an apparent grazing punch from Danny Green sent him to the canvas in the first round of their IBO Championship bout.

  8. Mate I think you are right on. Out of all the scenario's proposes and possible this is easily the most likely one.

Things have to be looked into mate i mean Paul could of died in that ring.
Giving someone a payday is one thing but letting someone of Pauls mental and physical condition get into a boxing ring is not on.
Many things have to be investigated in this fight, personally i had no idea that Paul was in such a bad way especially since the nurologists had cleared him.
So questions have to be answered.
Was Danny or GMP neglegent in their duty of care to allow Paul to fight?
They recieved the all clear in regards to his health so you can't blame them there but their decision to fight Paul in the first place leaves them open to be critisized.
Other people have to be held accountable as well such as Billy H who willingly let Paul enter the ring even after seeing how far Briggs had faded!
Some of the comments billy has made since the fight ended make me wonder why he agreed to train him for the fight?
At the end of the day i hope everyone learns a lesson from this especially Danny.
I'm just glad Paul didn't get hit by a massive right hand or we'd have another fatality in the ring.
If Paul got in the ring knowing that he was still suffering serious health effects then that was a stupid ****ing thing to do.
Hopfully something good comes of this fiasco like a unified boxing control board comes in and takes a harder stance against mis matches and curruption across the board.

    In my opinion

I can't believe how many people here are putting to one side that Briggs seemed to know he wasnt fit and hid it from everyone.

You can't put any blame on green here. He accepted a challange. The guy to greens knowledge was passed fit.

Its like when you talk about cancer and than someone in the room gets upset because they had a friend who had cancer but had never told anyone.

Green didnt get to make an informed decision.

I would sue for fraud if true.

So if the ghost of Jack Dempsey challenges Danny to a catchweight bout of 190lbs, we should dig him up?

Legacy < 250 k.. Man, imagine his kids and family having to justify that ****. If he knew he wasn't fit, knew he was gonna dive and cash in, that will tarnish the Briggs name for years. Whole things a joke.. I would love it if Green and Briggs spotted me my 50 bung back.

    Is it?

Paul's been retired for 3 years... he might have been a challenging fight for Green back in 2005.

To absolve him of any blame is laughable. There's plenty of blame to go around on this one IMO.

Not sure i believe this radio interview because if it was fixed Briggs would keep quite until he was paid both by Green and the bookies......... it wld appear a dumb move to admit it b4 payment.
