You mean the sport where every rich boxer is a minority?

There is no indication whatsoever that the Floyd hate is about race. It is about his arrogance and bravado mixed with his tendency to duck top level opponents...

This whole topic makes me sick to my stomach; get over yourself and stop dragging down your race with this kind of juvenile bull****.

    Floyd if you're listening...

Yes, people kind of get peeved when you claim to be greatest of all time and pick easy fights.

When you claim to be in it for money because skills pay the bills or whatever bull**** you pull out your ass that your sycophants around you and in boards like this take hook, line and sinker, and cry like a spoiled brat when boxing writers give someone else better recognition that will be included in boxing history. It's inconsistencies like this and a whole lotta more from you and your camp that gets under a lot of people's skins.

If Floyd was White, Mexican, Chinese, etc. I would hate him just as much because of his actions. If he was Filipino and acted like that, I'd ****ing kill him myself.

I used to be so passionate about defending perhaps the most misunderstood athlete in America until I realized I was just wasting my time trying to educate people who are too stubborn to even make an attempt to hear me out. I've also noticed if I magically got the world to change their views and started loving Floyd, well....Floyd wouldn't be Floyd. It'd be like taking the thrill out of a roller coaster ride. He thrives off hatred. Floyd "Money" Mayweather, Jr has become a brand that has made the man millions of dollars. I say let the hate continue because without it, Mayweather would be another version of Paul Williams - big talent but small name. For every anti Mayweather fan who jumps out of his seat making an attempt to be the loudest trash talker in the room, Mayweather gets another mark of hundreds if not thousands of dollars added to his pocket.

The price of Floyd being Floyd is that he won't get his credit until he's long due into his retirement.

Lots of truly confident people are cocky and slightly arrogant.

I think a lot of times people fail to see the entertainment value in Boxing. While it is a sport dealing with real people, it's still a form of entertainment. It's theatrical. There is no rule in Boxing that says a fighter cannot play the role of a character like Money Mayweather. Heckling, trash talking, etc. is all part of sports entertainment. I agree, people won't see Floyd's true value to the sport until he's long gone.

I can see why people hate him for being a braggart. I felt that way towards Hamed when he was around. I guess for me the difference between the two is I've actually gotten to see the other side of Floyd when he's not involved in Boxing or isn't trying to sell his name. The Floyd the world knows is the man who mouths off in interviews with Brian Kenny. But the real Floyd, I believe, is the guy you see being interviewed by Joe Buck on HBO.

Oh, btw, I know plenty of Filipinos who act like Money Mayweather. Can I hire you to get the "job" done? :]

You talking about the real Floyd ? The same Floyd that was on the Joe Buck show that was bragging about losing a quarter million dollars on football in one weekend during a recession while people are having a hard time paying bills. If that's the real Floyd, all I can say is " What a ****ing *douchebag" !!!!!!!!!!

*The term douchebag refers to a person, usually male, with a variety of negative qualities, specifically arrogance and engaging in obnoxious and/or irritating actions........................................................

People don't like him because he's black...what a refreshing take on why people get offended by Mayweather's behaviour.
