I lost part of my soul that night having to sit through a boring klitschko fight with germans giving me dirty looks when i was shouting support for andy lee
Yep, tell him its all going off on ESB and he'd better get his arse down here quick or his next fight will lose 20 PPV sells.
I'm a big fan of Bunce and have followed Haye from early on (I was at fragomenni too Rob) but the latest wrangling is pathetic. I respect Booth in lots of ways but when he talks about his 'German TV partners' he sounds like a clown. He is Haye not Hasselhoff, he doesn't have a German TV partner. 50/50 with no options is more than fair. I had tickets for the cancelled Vlad fight and lost a lot of cash. I spent a lot to get up to Manchester v Ruiz. There is no way I would even consider watching an Audley fight.
Wow, missed a couple of days of this one. Plenty of times I've disagreed with things Rob has said, but he's been bang on, coherent and accurate on this one. Always been a big fan of Bunce, even when I've not agreed with him, but this is not cool. Not only are you wrong, and appearing like a blinkered cheerleader here, but you're doing it in a way that is barely coherent and a little bit unhinged. Bradley Stone? Michael Watson? Where the **** did that come from?
It's certainly developed a lot of pace Cobbler. If you haven't already done so, have a listen to last night's show. And let us no ur take
This really isn't getting anybody anywhere, it's just getting worse and worse. We could do with drawing a line under the whole "Who said what" thing
Rob is right IMO. The problem with the money talk is that we are talking about multi-millionaires not people who need to "pay the bills and put food on the table to feed their family". People always use that line and it's insulting to people who actually do struggle to do that ****. Now David Haye has every right to do what is best for him financially instead of doing what boxing fans want him to do. HOWEVER, he did say he would take the heavyweigh division by storm, he did say he would fight the best and not take easy fights, he did say the heavyweight division needed some excitement back and he would bring it, he did say he would knock out both Klits, he did call them "bitchko". Now when you promise all of that and back out, what the **** do you expect other than to take some flak? Idiot fans who think this is the apprentice are not helping the situation whatsoever. If Haye is fighting for money and not legacy then that's his choice, but don't start defending his ass as if you're his financial advisor. Haye is a bg boy and I'm sure he doesn't mind being called names in exchange for getting extra $$$. The issue is apparently Haye wanting 100% of UK tv rights. From a business viewpoint Haye may have his reasons. I don't know what Haye is playing at but when you talk about 60/40 versus 50/50 or who should get tv rights etc, etc, those should be very minor problems and should not get in the way IF you are who you say you are and are fighting for the fans. It's a trade-off. To make money you need to generate excitement which Haye has done. Now you can sacrifice part of your legacy in order to milk the situation but you will **** off the fans to whom you made certain promises. Haye has so far gone about things very, very differently to how he said he would, and that's why he's getting flak. No fighter fights for free but not every fighter makes the promises he Haye has either. Do you think if Ali or Tyson or Frazier had been called out like that they would be arguing over tv rights? Of course not. Let's be real, we're not talking about struggling to put food on the table, we're talking about the difference between Haye being able to afford 4 Ferrari's and a large size swimming pool versus Haye being able to afford 6 Ferraris and an extra large swimming pool. This **** aint the apprentice mother****as! Let him do what he's gotta do to get paid but don't defend his ass cuz he's not gonna give you any of the cash. Sounding like a broken record I know but I'll say it again. Make the ****ing fight now and risk a defeat and severe beating, as well as loss of future earning power OR milk the situation by fighting lesser fighters and lining your pockets and wait for the brothers to become older and shot, but accept a lot of criticism from the fans. You can't ****ing have both damnitt! Haye knows this so why can't his fans accept it. Personally I like the Audley fight. I will watch it if it happens but I can completely understand why fans are angry if it happens.
Best post on this thread in a long time! The reason why Haye fans are now so frustrated is because we was promised fireworks. We had a cockney Londoner winding up the best in the division, and the best thing was, he seemed to have the attributes to trouble both of them. Now we are left with a possible fight with Harrison, the man who was getting schooled by Sprott for 11 rounds! Haye talks about legacy, Harrison doesn't do anything to add to his. In my opinion, it actually diminishes it. But Haye is in control of the situation. Us as fans can only pray he does the 'right' thing.
For once, Rob has come across quite well I see exactly what both men were saying. Yes, I think Bunce has gone about it the wrong way (his posts today are more akin to his when he first started posting here) but I hope all this can be resolved; I'm a fan of Buncey, and a fan of Robs (his enthusiasm and, most of the time, decent threads, can keep this forum ticking along when its slowing down at times) and, most of all, Rob is a supporter of Buncey and gives a lot of input into his show. Buncey+ESB Forum=Good rapport and a venue for the real fans to get their voices heard. This is a good thing. There is a misconception that Forum Posters don't go to live shows and just watch illegal streams, that is definitely not the case. We are the hardcore. We deserve respect. Buncey has given it to us in the past, lets hope this is just a spat. On Haye, he's pissed me off; too quiet. I used to defend him big time, but I can't be arsed anymore. Wlads fans are more annoying, but looking at both FIGHTERS and taking the fans out of the equation, and I can't believe I'm aboutt o say this...........I hope Wlad sparks Haye. My Adamek-Haye option is a quality idea by the way Buncey; Adamek makes money, he has a fan base and would elevate Haye up to the kind of stature that will allow him to make these demands of the Klit Bros. he really would be unavoidable. As it is, they can retire without being givent too much heat for not fighting him IMO. If Haye never figths them he'll always be regarded as a chinny Cruiser. A rich one, but surely he has more pride in himself then that, he certainly seemed to before, it was all about fighting, now it's all about money. There was a time whent he Warriors of this sport cared about both. Rant over, much love to everyone :good
Same for the Klitschkos. Simple as that. Neither wanted the fight it seems. The picking on Haye is just unbalanced in the extreme.
