damn, yeah of course your right. lawler beat melvin manhoef so shields striking > melvin manhoef manhoef beat bob sapp who beat ernesto hoost who beat mirko cro-cop who beat remmy bonjesky who beat Badr Hari see sheilds is the best striker after all
lawler didn't quite outstrike manhoef. he got demolished and landed an incredible shot. Shields also didn't outstrike lawler. Before things really got going, lawler got subbed. Shields is very good at grappling. I want to see GSP outgrapple him.
cant tell when someone is joking:nono sheilds striking is not the best, but Jake can trade shots until he opens the opponent for the takedown. Did you see that fight he did outstrike lawler for the minute it remained a striking match, then used the opening to submit lawler, just like an mma fighter is supposed to do. they dont need the best boxing, wrestling or submission skills just be the best at putting it together and getting the victory. Still their are things sheilds can improve, his stiking mainly and gnp finishing. If it were a kickboxing/muay thai match sheilds would not be any good neighter would gsp, koschek, matt hughes, or even the mma fighters who are considered strikers would get ko'ed. but this is mma, its about wellroundedness sheilds will do fine in the ufc as long as he focuses on his strenghts.
