We don't have many big punchers at the minute to be honest. Macklin obviously has good enough power. Lee has power and scores lots of single punch knockdowns. Other than that I'm not sure... Lindsay looked powerful against Appleby and Matthews but has a low KO %. Apparently Sutcliffe is a powerful amateur, I've only seen his KO of John Joe Joyce and that was good.
the six fight deal is for Setanta and the Ulster Hall so all the shows will be in belfast for the moment, but Phil Sucliffe was there at the presser- he might be able to get setanta on board for some of his shows?
Great to see this mornings Stars backpage and on it in the corner was about the the deal Barry and Setanta have done. It makes a change from the usually stuff you normaly see on the backpages so hopefully they get the figures and Barry and Setanta have long deal together. Dont forget if you want to join the fantasy football. http://www.premierleague.com/page/Home/0,,12306,00.html The code is 100950-81478 so far 7 teams in it there has to be more than 7 of us here.
Lads this deal with Setanta is great stuff. I wonder if Barry will sign any more irish lads. I could think of a few bright promising talents he could sign up such as Anthony Cacace, Jamie Conlon, Paddy Barnes, Willie mcglouglin, David Oliver Joyce, Tommy McCarthy etc. I really hope he dos sign a few more lads as there is great talent in the amateurs at the moment. PS: Carlos did you make it to the funeral in time after the photoshoot ??
Andy Lee Matthew Macklin Neil Sinclair Willie Casey, Carl Frampton and Patrick Hyland are all hard hitters too.
I cant see any of the amateurs at the moment turning pro. This time 2 years away and it will be the London Olympics I would say most of them would want to try and get to this before turning pro. I would guess Paddy would turn pro after the London games and maybe 1 or 2 others. I would also guess after the games they could well sort themselfs out with the best deal they can get. Those that fail to make it to the games may well turn pro sooner rather than later.
Sutcliffe and barnes are going to be great pros i think but the olympic medal dream is to close now to turn down. Understandable really.
seen the star...but the north beats you again...theres a huge headline and photos of mcguigan on the front page...yes i said front page of the irish news:deal
Hard hitters we have are; Macklin, Lee, Pajo. In that order. As someone else said; Lindsay doesnt have a great KO% and the matthews punch was only real big shot he has thrown. But others have shown power in a flurry of punches, ie casey, magee, mccloskey, frampton and even murray in recent fights
"Frampton is impeccably dressed for the occasion. Slick black shirt and tie, grey trousers, smart shoes and hair gelled to perfection..."
