From ESPN: Current champion Humberto Soto - 52-7-2 (32) - will defend his WBC lightweight title against countryman Urbano Antillon - 28-1 (20) - in Mexico this September, as a "tune-up" for a match with Marco Antonio Barrera.

Barrera will be taking his own "tune-up" against David Diaz a week later.

IF all goes as planned and Soto and Barrera both win, they will meet in early 2011.

The tune-up opponents in both cases are very live underdogs, however - and each is a few years younger than the respective favorite for whom they are supposed to serve as a stepping stone.

Awesome match-up. although if I were Antillon's handlers I'd be :huh with his promoter...

He get's KO'd vs Acosta, so they put him in with another/arguably better grinder/boxer?

I think it will be an entertaining fight while it lasts but Soto picks him apart. :bbb

Both Soto and Barerra are taking tough fights for "tune ups". Soto and Barerra should both win but an upset to one of them wouldn't totally surprise me. It would be nice if these fights end up on Arum's Fox cards.

I think Barrera is the worst out the four to be honest, such a shame, as none of them would be fit to shine the Barrera's shoes that beat Naz.

It's possible because he has good power and Soto has slowed down quite a bit especially at 135lbs. Antillon is very easy to hit, possessing an average chin and a sucker for the uppercut, a punch which Soto excels.
