Hey peeps, been quite ill 4 some time now so been limited to the odd post and checkin the site out every now and then and boy did I choose the wrong time to be poorly. Only gone and missed the most controversial thread since ive joined.

Like Rob, chinny and many others I follwed Haye from Bethnal Green's Home of Boxing from his debut in bout 02, through to his only loss at Wembley Arena (my disloyalty to the York Hall punished by missing Wayne Alexanders KO of the century V Takaloo on the same night) all the way to losing my hardish earned £ when the 1st Wlad fight fell through. Gutted? Sure. Let down? Perhaps. Totally surprised? Hell no, not in this game.

The point ive yet to see on this thread is this: Its not been 4 years since the cushty Fragomeni fight at the wee York Hall. Since then Hayes had to go to Paris for his 1st titles as cruiser, needed Frank Warren work his ass off to sell the tix for the Macarrinelli unification, literally given away tix for the barrett event and flew to Germany to get his current WBA strap. This half points to Hayes guts to not shirk a challenge and half questions the negotiating abilty of him, Adam Both and his team. I accepted the loss of £ for the 1st cancellation of this super fight but THREE.

Hayes team seemed to jump the gun prior to the 1st attempt at this, because its put themselves into a position where Haye HAD to fight Klitschko or lose face amongst the fans.

These appearances on camp chat shows, magazine signings blah blah blah give him that cross-over appeal. Why does he need that cross-over appeal to sell the tickets coz the boxing hardcore might just lose respect for him aka not buy his tix if a big fight doesnt happen quick. They might be able to strike good deals but Hayes teams can do media!

With this point in mind and the mentioning that Sauerland has options on Hayes next fights, Golden Boy representing him in the U.S, Klitschko having their own tv deal in Germany I dont think Hayes tesosterone level should be the questioning point, but his teams negotatiing power ought to be if a 50-50 unification fight with either Klitschko is not enough to make the fight happen. Reverting to my main point, they are only 3 and a half years away from putting David on York Hall shows. His team lack experience in these deals. For the record, David Haye's done GREAT to achieve so much in such a short amount of time in the ring. He's done us proud it'd be a shame to let down his loyal fans by shirking a challenge for the 1st time in his career.

p.s Rob and Bunce issue, not voting on it as it has fanny all to do with me. No disrepect to O/P i know its all meant as a bit of fun :good

Team Haye are waiting to cash him out they know they will lose to Klits but want as much money as they can to retire off because they won't be able to fight again.

I think Buncey is right...just Rob is looking at it from the fans point of view perfectly acceptable i want the fight tomorrow but realistically the negotiation for this fight is so hard because of Haye's demands Klitschko will be taking asmaller percentage of the purse than he is used to for a higher risk opponent. Despite this i think he realises that he does need Haye for his own credibility hence the tedious negotiating. The problem lies with the fact Wlad can draw the same numbers whether its Haye or Danil Peret

Now all we need is for CHEF to make a cameo appearance and let people now he is CHEF.

From his website; Steve Bunce has worked as a journalist and broadcaster since 1985
He has been at five Olympic Games and reported on over fifty fights in Las Vegas.

As well as being a regular columnist for Boxing Monthly, he also contributes to The Independent and the Sunday Herald. He has a monthly boxing show on BBC Radio Five Live and a weekly sports chat show on BBC Radio London.

I'd wager he has a little more to contribute to this forum than you or many others on here.

Whats the point having a forum then? We'll all just listen in to his radio show and be told what to think. When it comes to Haye, Bunce is as biased as they come- and you're happy to listen because you're a fanboy. What happened to Haye's promise (in 2008 ) to beat two top 10 heavyweights and then fight Wladimir? If he fights Audley we will reach 2011 and he will have beaten a grand total of one top 10 heavyweight. Way to go cleaning out the division

Nope I'm happy to listen because I find what he comes out with usually entertaining and informative.
I really couldn't give a **** about some promise Haye made of ridding the HW division of the extremely boring IMO Klit Bros. I don't lose any slepp over it like some seem to be.
Funnily enough I'd be quite happy to watch him fight Adamek, Harrison, Arreola, Solis etc. (even Chisora, I like all British battles)
The only thing Haye owes his fans is to come to the ring fit and ready to fight to the 'end' when he gets in the ring.

I think Wlad knows that not fighting Haye will be a big blot on his career if the fight were not to happen whether it is percieved as Haye's fault or not.

Who is left for the brothers now Adamek Briggs Povetkin Peter? Enough for another fight each probably but surely it cant go on much longer. This Haye fight could potentially be career defining

Haye won't go away he can take the big money fights Harrison Adamek? until he gets terms he is happier with. Its just hell for us because we just want to see them in a ring together.
