Frazier wins. You don't just blitz Frazier out, you have to be able to finish him... Langford won't be able to do it. Frazier would win for many reasons listed (Langford's lack of head-movement).

Damn good matchup. I don't know for sure who would win. I would just sit back and enjoy it. If somebody put a gun to my head and forced me to pick, I would have to go with Sam, due to his greater experience and ability to figure out and screw with his opponents' styles.

Langford was a more dangerous finisher than anybody that Frazier ever shared a ring with.

Don't doubt it for one second.

Would be a great fight. Since Langford had a good puncb he would have a good shot at sparking Frazier out.

This guy has 6900 posts and not one original thought ... tell us where you're coming up with the Langford lack of head movement .. SQ pulled it out of his ass and here you are parroting it .. it's actually predictable and funny ...

His posts are far less bias and more informed than yours. His recent unbelievable high quality Marciano-Charles I highlight video is much more productive than anything you have ever done for this forum.

I dont know that it is a particularly bad matchup style wise,it could be called a pick em fight ,but posters talking about Frazier winning, as though it is a formality ,are way off the mark.

It isn't a bodybuilding contest, Fraziers weight was also in his shoulders and lower back, the punching muscles, meaning all his weight was in his punches

I know boxing isn't a body building contest, I practised it for two decades.
My point was, posters are assuming Langford gets overpowered here because, Frazier is the bigger man, he is taller that's about it. I would guess Langford is as strong if not stronger ,and the better puncher ,with possibly the better chin.

Frazier rarely took a backward step in his career .. anyone fighting that style gets hit. Langford was by all accounts a monster puncher. He was short, had a great chin and was very tricky on both offense and defense ... It is to me a bad match up for Joe ..

Langford is my all time top pound for pound fighter ... ahead of Robinson, ahead of Fitz, Greb or Charles ... however at heavyweight he was beatable by larger boxers who had the reach to keep him off ... this was proved by Wills and Fulton .. however short sluggers excluding , to me, a prime Tyson, were made to order ... I feel he would have flattened Dempsey, Marciano or Frazier .. none of them could fight their fights and survive , no way ..

Agreed. Frazier speciuality was vs boxer types who did not punch back hard enough to keep him off. Frazier to me has good foot speed, very good hand speed, great stamina, great heart, and good, but not great power. Some head movement.

On the downside he had no plan B or C for attack, could not fight backwards, could not pile up points or set up off the jab, had a mediocre at best right, and a seldom used uppercut. Odd, the uppercut would have worked well for Frazier's style. Frazier's chin to me like most fighters was suspect to punchers, and he had swelling issues.

If you matching him up with a puncher who is also more durable, and more versatile on offense, I would not pick Frazier as the winner.

I feel you vastly overrate Langford here. I cannot fathom him beating any of these men by one sided knockout. In fact, I don't see him beating any of these men period. Have you watched Langford vs Lang on film? Langord was not that impressive.

Well you have put your point very persuasively, and there is nothing I can disagree with. Marciano would be a toss up ,my vote would be to Sam, I like Dempsey to beat Langford however.
