That is why i made my Korobov comment regarding Guerrero. Korobov has top notch athleticism, reflexes, speed but also has such sound fundementals too. I think Guerrero would have a hard time finding him, Korobov is very good at controlling range, and his counter punching would be the two biggest factors.
I think that has more to do with his style. He comes forward and throws so he's always leaving himself open. But he can improve on this stuff. What you can't teach is raw talent, determination and heart. And he's got all of that. Anytime a fighter has that and the willingness to learn, he can go a long way. We'll see. I'm more worried about his lack of pop and size as a MW. The subtle things will take care of itself with the right trainer IMO.
I'd like to see Smith against Lemieux by the end of the year. That could set nice comparatives between Jacobs, Guerrero and Lemieux. Speaking of Lemieux, his promoter will decide next week whether or not he will fight on the undercard of Pascal-Dawson or be the headliner of the season finale of FNF on Aug. 28. ESPN is pushing hard to get him. So far, Lajuan Simon and Giovanni Lorenzo have declined invitations for Aug. 14.
If Guerrero didnt get Walker out of there early I'm sure he would've had a few issues himself. Every fight of Guerrero's that I've seen when he cant knock his opponent out he looks average.
I'm not trying to say Guerrero is better than Jacobs. I'm only saying that there wasn't a huge difference against common opponents. We'll find out how good Jacobs is next Saturday:happy I think Pirog is a big step up.
So do I. Should be an interesting fight. Hope young Danny pulls it off if he does his future is bright.
Angulo has proven a whole hell of a lot more than Fernando to this point. I guarantee you Fernando wouldn't of gotten Alcine out of the ring in the 1st. round.
Well, you can scratch off Jacobs off the list and Pirog as well. Jacobs is too basic to beat Guerrero. Doesn't move as well as Guerrero and doesn't have the heart. Pirog, well, i think Guerrero handles him. Guerrero can fight inside or outside. Yeah, he's easy to hit and needs to improve on his defense but i think he can. But he's got the game to beat Pirog.
hate to break it to you buuuut Pirog is probably even better on the inside than outside. Pirog would manhandle Fernando.
