but why all the bull**** posturing? just say you aren't ready which they should have done a long time ago.
the dude won olympic gold in 2004 how much ****in time does this guy need ? he would be developed if he would actually get his fatass in the ring
He's 30, almost 31. He's had 19 pro fights. He's had a looong and successful amateur career, including a gold medal at 2004 olympics. If he's not ready now, he's never going to be.
I agree with the above statements, the guy has been taking easier fights of late, he's not even stepping up in comp. How much longer does he want?
You know, I agree that Sasha should at most take a few more fights against opponents that might actually even remotely give him looks like Wlad, but you guys are impossible. If someone bashes Povetkin they say his Olympic Gold doesn't mean ****, because of the differences between the amateurs and the pros; but in this thread his Olympic medal is being used to bash him for not moving faster. The guy just can't win.
let i agree let the men get some more fights in him 1st, i dont want wald to ruin him with that bull hit anyways.alla calvin brock, sam peter, eddie chambers !
Its pretty sad and screwed up when our top heavyweight dogs / contenders aren't ready for their title shots, etc...... Povetkin: "Too Green" Tua: "Too Faded" Peter: "Unskilled" Briggs: "Too Flakey and Innconsistant" Toney: "Too Old and Fat at 41" Rahman: "Washed Up" Solis: "Too Lazy and Green" Folks, its pretty goddamn bad out there right now...... MR.BILL
I don't agree with Atlas. You get a shot at the title, you take it. If you lose, then work your way back up to another shot. Just look at Peter. He's getting another crack at Wlad, and he barely had to work for it! Furthermore, Povetkin has been the mandatory for 2 years now. He should have been spending that time training to be ready. More time is not going to help him much. It's not like he just started boxing. Maybe a few fights will help him get rid of rust, but that rust is only there due to his inaction. The only thing I think Atlas is doing for Povetkin is diminishing his confidence. He's done it to other fighters he trained. I think he gets a kick out of it.
Povetkin was moving like a freight train up until about two years ago. Now he's wasting his career away. I don't think it's fair to use his medal against him, but I do think it's fair to trash his record since Chambers. A lot of guys are saying they don't want him to waste his chance if he's not ready - I recall making this same argument two years ago. He should have done something to move his career forward.
Povetkin should try Dimetrenko or some other huge euros and get ready for whats coming the best he can
I agree! We are talking about a guy with only 19 pro fights but what?... maybe 100 amateur fight give or take... its not like he is NEW to boxing... really... what will 2-3 more fights do???? Help him learn what atlas is teaching him... and who says that will make a difference.... Take the shot when you get the chance... he beat everyone to become #1... take your shot
