It'd be a great damn fight. Both shorter, more compact welterweights who would bring the action. Cotto has shown that he knows how to deal with elite handspeed when he narrowly beat Mosley. However, I'm still not entirely sold on him being the same fighter he was pre-Margarito. At the same time, despite his physical gifts, Berto's increased experience has not translated to proportionate gains in craft. It's hard to pick, but I imagine Cotto would be coming off at around -180 or so.
they also mentioned how mayweather is probably waiting until manny has no more in the tank like he did with mosley. in which in fact we really don't know what happens behind close doors cause they are all crooks except the fighters who should get more of a purse than what they get
Berto has great athleticism but he is not as technically sound as Cotto is and he doesn't have his experience yet in fights, cotto has fought the best at his weight class. good fight though but I see Cotto winning by late stoppage.
I think the fight is similar to Cotto/Judah. Berto like Judah has all the physical gifts in the world (amazing speed, good power, amazing explosiveness and pure athleticism) but they both lack a certain degree of ring savviness. I think Cotto will wear down Berto and take him out in the late rounds similar to the way he did Judah although I think Berto will make more of a fight than Judah did and at times I see Berto very possibly have Cotto hurt or stunned. I just think Cotto is too tough and has too great of timing for Berto. I think he'll manage to control the fight with and work off of his jab. I just can't see Berto winning.
Cotto has weaknesses for sure, and he will NEVER beat Floyd or Pac, but Cotto will beyond any doubt beat the **** out of Berto.
dunno if cotto will never beat floyd or pac but one thing is for sure. he is back for now. we will see where it goes
i dont fully agree but yu hav some points... one thing is for sure is that it going to be bombs away!!!!!!!
