Be honest with yourselves. Is it normal for a 112lb fighter win a title at 154lbs?

    Is it normal? No. But is it unprecedented? Also no. When Cotto was 15, he was a flyweight. When Mayweather was 15, he was a flyweight. Pacquiao was a malnourished kid when he won his first title at 112. His real baseline weight should be 122, but it's impressive that he was able to win a title when he was draining himself to the bone.

    By definition, being a champion is not 'normal'. Most of us in our mundane lives don't get to experience extraordinary people so things like this are outside our comprehension. Strange that some folks can tag one person as an exception but a second somehow becomes suspect and must be cheating.

    If De La Hoya and Mayweather turned pro at 16, they would probably have done the same thing as what Pac did, maybe even more titles at more weight divisions.

    To answer your question, no, it is not normal. That's what makes the boxers I mentioned above extraordinary.

    We dont know anything. Boxing is a dirty sport many fighters do things you would never dream of. Adderal in water and before the fight could be common not that I know anything.

    bull****, its night and day difference.....pac was fighting grown ass men when he weighed that....theres no proof mayweather weighed 109 at 16. i call bull**** on that
    he fought as an 18 year old weighing 126 ,

    Floyd Mayweather was Golden Gloves champion in 1993 at 106lbs.

    Explain how that does not constitute 'proof' that he weighed 106lbs at age 16?

    And he was 16 when he started as a professional. BTW he actually weighted less than 106 when he was 16.

    Exactly right, people make too much of the weight-thing, when taking the age factor into account it's really not that special. I myself am 26 and my best weight is around 190 (like what i am in my avatar). When i was 16 i barely weighed 150, and i'm pretty sure i never took any ped's!

    106 pound 19 year olds with 1 - 1 records isn't exactly like he was taking on brock lesnar
