i'm always thinking of idea's for new threads. What's sad is you get some really good threads (which is about fighters) which gets 3-4 pages and then you get a thread like this that revolves around negotiations and he say she say that gets 16+ I have to put thinking cap on.
I'm going to resurrect my ESB all time rankings thread. It was dying on is arse when we got down to the Welters but it might be worth a punt.
Our most gifted all round fighter is set to fight Audley Harrison. Of course its going to be met with strong opinion. Prospects thread is a c..racker btw
cheers mate :good yes but the fact that people seemed so pre-occupied with this and actually persist to only focus on specific threads is annoying. Yes it's a talking point but thread after thread about it is not needed and the fact people just say same thing is even more annoying. We can't change Haye's plans. We just gotta accept what he does. If we don't like it..don't buy it. Nothing else we can do. There's been far worse fights over the years. Blown out of proportion springs to mind.
its not over one fight. its a collection. I am a fan of world class boxing. The reason i follow domestic boxing is so I can see prospects. a fight like stuart hall vs martin power tonight really didnt interest me as there never gonna do anything on the world stage. Haye not fighting Klitscko and fighting Harrison instead, No mayweather vs pacquiao, no donaire vs darchinyan 2, no williams vs martinez 2. Khan won't fight Bradley or Alexander. And its all down to money none of these guys have the warrior pride which is why i fell in love with boxing in the first place. i just think i should take a step back and then i wont be getting my hopes up all the time. its a business before a sport. maybe i will get into amateur stuff.
C'mon Rob, you love the business side of the sport and besides, if you hate the politics in pro boxing, the ams will drive you totally nuts.
I like the business in terms of the media side but not actual fight negotiations. Haye not fighting klitscko because of 500k, Povetkin pulling out of the fight because there wasnt enough brown m&ms in his hotel room. There not warriors there mercenaries. And ive just seen it pop up that Margorito has got the Pacquiao fight. what a farce. The guy should be banned for life.
and its for the vacant WBC title at light middleweight. what the **** has pacquiao done to deserve a title shot at light middleweight?? and its means Ryan Rhodes probably wont get his chance in 2011.
