Be Honest Pacfans, have you lost respect to Pacquiao for giving Plaster a chance?

Manny hasn't signed anything or agreed to fight him.

    Hopefully he comes around.

Is everyone who fought Mosley, Toney and Jones after they failed drug tests not worthy of your respect either then? :think

Pac-Margo stinks, but it is an Arum decision.

Pacquiao only fights who Arum wants him to and Arum is screwing him big time. As a Pacquiao fan, I haven't lost respect for him because I know Pacquiao just does what he's told he doesn't take initiative and say something like, "I would like other options. I mean I beat Cotto already and November may be the last time I fight so lets give this chance to someone else other than Margarito". At the end of the day I'm still a fan of him.

After the Mayweather-Fight fell through (I'm not going into accusation mode here), what was left? It's probably Manny's last fight and he wanted it to be a legacy fight. That means either for the P4P-crown, or looking for the next weight class.
Given that a Cotto rematch is totally superfluous, it came down to Spinks, Dzindziruk or Margarito and I'd say Marga was the reasonable choice. Especially considering that the first two would probably not WANT to lose their titles to Pac (which would be like a 100% deal), while Marga is not only desperate for any big fight, but also promoted by Arum.

There weren't any good non-legacy options either:
The WW-Division is cleared, if we recognize that fighting another guy whom May has disposed of (Mosley) is not very marketable, though I always thought Pac would KO Mosley (with a solid chance of getting KO'ed himself).
Marquez is fighting Diaz, so no Trilogy at this point. And Marquez @140 @35 years old is no benchmark any longer.

I despise of Tony's cheating too, but the way it is right now, he was the only real option for Manny.

lets be clear here...the reason for this fight not happening is because Floyd doesn't want the fight right now...or at least he's not sure if he wants it...you can't make a fight with someone who doesn't wanna fight you...FLoyd is scared Roger is going to jail for the fight...& he hates Arum...u think you could put this BULL**** away for the sake of the sport...not to mention the absurd amounts of money everyone involved will make...pathetic.

I refuse to pay for a fight that will help out that disgrace Margarito. What he did was unacceptable, and put the lives and long-term health of possibly MANY fighters at risk for his own selfish reasons/greed.

The guy should never be allowed to box again, let alone have a title shot. This is disgusting and a total slap in the face to what little integrity boxing has left. How many examples throughout history do we need to point to for people to understand how dangerous and irresponsible the actions of Margarito (and his trainers) were?

Never allowed to fight again...... that is what should be done to him.

Much respect to you for saying that. I understand everything else you said and earlier and have just come to realize Pacquiao is just fighting whoever Arum wants to so he shouldn't be blamed. I'll still watch Pacquiao fight whoever he's fighting on Nov. and enjoy watching him fight.

I wish he wasn't fighting him, but I can't really see who else he has to fight at this moment.

The blame doesn't rest with Pac, although I wish he tell Arum no, the blame rest in Arum. He doesn't care about what we, the fans, want to see. He only cares about making the most money HE can.

Promoters like him are destroying boxing.

    Great post dude

I agree 100%, why give Margacheato a shot? He doesn't deserve it.

Shane blasted him out, so will Pac

He should have moved up to 154 for another belt in another weight catagory, or at least looked at the other 147 lb champions and fought them.

Berto would have jumped at the chance

Its just another black mark against boxing that Mayweather and Pacquiao doesn't happen

Apparently Pac will face Margacheato - I wont bother watching
Apparently Mayweather will fight Cotto - I wont bother watching
