So wlad's mandatory is vs Samuel Peter, we can't get away from this fact. For wlad to keep his belt this fight must happen. Is anyone else going to join me in the hope that Peter has re-discovered his old form, and actually has a shot at catching wlad? I know recent form points to wlad dominating peter worse than his brother did, but given their history atleast the fight has intrigue. I know Peter has virtually no chance, but given the inevtiability of the fight i am able to convince myself peter has a chance. Anyone else want to join me in my bubble and hope the fight will be competitive/exciting?
Peter is the biggest waste of talent in the last 10 years imo. Tall, well built, powerful, quick hands, great reactions... with some proper coaching and a good conditioning coach he could have been the No 3 heavweight as well as posing a decent obstacle to the K bros... now he is just terrible. Gaining all that weight really hurt his reflexes and he has not developed a defence at all... he is a brutal KO waiting to happen
this is all true, but still dont you just hope that the fight will be exciting? dont you hope that peter might land a big right hand?
Apperently Peter is down to his lowest weight since his fight with first fight with Wlad. He has been serious about his training and diet and has been a different man since his fight with Chambers. He was the last man to give Wlad a real go and it's not like he's old and washed up he just wasn't training hard enough. i'm glad he had the balls to man up and fight Wlad not like so many others. If nobody will fight Wlad I think James toney should get a shot....i'm sure he would step up.
I agree. It's sad that HBO won't be showing this fight. They've been beggin Wlad to fight and exciting opponent and this could be a great fight.
Peter had his chance to beat WALDO. This time he will be on the end of a one sided albeit Klitschko paced beating. I don't give Peter much of a chance at all.
No, not at all. I am just being realistic. :good At the time of their first fight Peter was young, undefeated and was clubbing opponents into submission. WALDO was at the crossroads where he faced the possibility of retirement if he lost. He fought as such as well. Peter took some huge shots and took them well - he also let his hands go. Since then he has lost to Chambers and lost his belt against a man who had been out of the ring for some years. For me he just plods forward with no though or head movement and for some reasone will not let his hands go. If WALDO actually steps on the the gas (which is a big if) he may just stop Peter.
It was partially the first lost to W.Klitschko that made Peter a little cautious (which is bad for his style). The McCline fight made him totally punch shy. He's lucky Chambers isn't a big puncher. The rematch will play out like the V.Klit - Peter fight. Peter way too cautious, eating jab after jab, eventually gets caught with some clean right hands and down he goes. Remember, Vitali may be the better overall, but W.Klit is like a glass cannon. If you sit on the end of his jab and try to box with him he's knocking you out brutally.
Peter has a 1% chance of winning this fight-he must start this fight with his guns blazing, he's got to be wild, throwing shots from all over the place, and hope he catches Wlad, if he fights in a straight line he'll be puffed up and out by round 6.
im convinced the only way to beat wlad is the way sanders did. try catching him cold with wild shots. ther is no danger of wlad gassing anymore. the chances of slipping a jab and landing a big punch are slim also considering his much improved defence
