I was at the fight IB. I was really bummed they bumped that fight to end the night. It was much more excting than the Rico Ramos fight which had the crowd snoring. Dallas caught gayrat with a left hook in the fight that stunned him before getting knocked out. 3/4ths of the crowd left after shumenov and uzelkov fought. Was really weird that 3/4ths of the crowd was pro shumenov considering the central valley is full of a bunch of tiny hick towns.

If I remember correctly, the WBA appointed Campillo the mandatory for the winner of this fight.

What about Chris Henry? That guy knocked out Garay to be the mandatory I thought?

Awesome. The rubbermatch on American TV where any funny business would be in plain sight, and with Shumenov concentrating 100% on his training should make for a conclusive outcome in this rivalry.

That sounds vaguely familiar...but as much as I like Chris Henry, he isn't more deserving than Campillo even with a knockout of a decent name like Garay.

After he started so well, I've been trying to figure out what happened to Uzelkov?

Finally realized that it was probably that late 3rd round knock down. He must have gotten a couple scews knocked loose, and was never able to get his wits back the rest of the fight. It was a geart knock down. Nice delayed reaction.

Have there been any post fight interviews?

I was there live man and let me tell you, the shot that Shumenov landed on Uzelkov was devastating, even to the Shuemnov fans! After that, Uzelkov was extremely tentative and looking for one shot. He had it at the end of the 11th when Shumenov momentarily froze up, but it was at the end of the round. Even then, Uzelkov was too tired to do anything.

I don't see any way that Shumenov can beat Campillo. Shumenov throws hard shots every time he throws, but he is content with hitting gloves it seems. He needs to wait more for counters or at least pick his punches properly. He also likes blocking punches with his face, that doesn't help any matters.
