Comparing Roy Jones to Jordan is a slap in Jordans face being clutch even at 35 was something he was known for,Jones was a choker in comparisons.Duran is rated higher but vastly overrated a ATG yes but no way in hell is he top 10 and know way in hell is he rated ahead of Hearns,Hagler, and Leonard, and Benitez also thoroughly dominated him to,his LW reign is what people claim they rate him so high by,but nothing he did was as impressive as any of those 3 men .This dominance that people speak of about Duran is blasphamy,he ducked Argeullo at SFW, LW and SL had some loses at LW,Jones was dominate against mediocre comp, but his wins over McCallum a ATG Toney,Hopkins, and Hill have to count for something. Both are these guys are vastly overrated but Duran was the better fighter skill wise and the bigger wins, but RJJ was more dominant and more consistant,Duran ranks higher but he is not top 10 P4P all time in my rankings, but RJJ barely makes my top 50 so maybe im not fanboy enough to discuss these 2,which are 1 and 2 on my overrated lists.

Neither of them would make my top 20 all-time. But both were great fighters and I think it's valid to compare them.
I'd rate Duran higher but it's closer than most people on this board make it.

Roy Jones was not a choker....what he achieved will never be achieved again in our life time. No fighter is going to win titles at Middle Weight, SuperMiddle Weight, Light Heavyweight, and Heavyweight...............! there are no fighters around today in the professional game, and amatuers that have shown any ability to do this, there are none...its not gonna happen.

Roy Jones redifined an art, and could write his own text, create his own style of boxing. The man's what Bruce Lee was.....to martial arts, he's Michael Jordon with boxing gloves on.

There has been no athlete in boxing today, that compares to Roy Jones. As a athlete he was the most gifted fighter of all-times, all-times.

The man was pure art to watch, a pure artist.

    At Light Heavyweight.....

I'd have Duran at 20-something. Inside the top 30.

I'm not sure about Jones. I cant think much beyond a top 30, and he doesn't make it.

Jordan had skill, and most of all heart to go along with his insane athletic abillity,Jones lacked both superior boxing skill, which is evident in him as a older fighter, with his physical abillity gone he's not a good fighter, and heart for all the fights against civil servants and bums he fought, wasting his prime away.So yeah he's a artist at ducking people and fighting cops and fireman,he should have learned conventinal boxing skills, probably 1 of the reasons he ducked good boxers.:deal:lol::nono

    Wrong.

Roy Jones had superior boxing skill, what does it take to throw combinations..? skills

What does it take to throw hooks..? skills

What does it take to avoid punches..? skills

And Roy Jones was the best at it, no one could throw combinations with such art.

The notion that Roy Jones did not have boxing skills, is a myth....its just aload of bull****. That people like to say, because they think it makes them look.....as if they know a thing a two about boxing.

Why is'nt Michael Jordan playing basketball today in the NBA..?

If he was so skillfull, why did he retire..?

I will tell you why, because there is a point when it dose'nt matter how skillfull you are. Boxing and basketball are athletically dominant sports..........!!!!!!!!

Roy Jones even though he was shot, and over 40 years of age. Could still make younger more fresher boxers around the world, look slow and confused.

"He made Jeff Lacy look like a complete ******..............."

One because he is a great athlete, and two....because he has skill.

Anybody can have athletic ability, but not everybody can do this ****. Go down your local gym and ask these guys, to win Middle Weight, Super Middle Weight, Light Heavyweight, and World titles...............its not going to happen.

Just look at Roy Jones trainning, that hanging bag is one of the hardest things to hit, with skill and co-ordination.

"From the 3min 15sec mark..................all i can say is that you need to shut the **** up"

Your insulting boxing, when you say Roy Jones has no skill..? who has skill then..? Rocky Marciano...?

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbRykf-5Zo8[/ame]

Look at Rocky Marciano compared to Roy Jones in trainning. Rocky Marciano looks abit ****, trying to do the speed ball............SLOW AND VERY ****.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVt11BC1WNs[/ame]

I have never seen anybody, Manny Pac, Floyd Mayweather....name all the ****ing great fighters around to today. I have never seen any of them hit that bag, with the accuracy and skill of Roy Jones.............

Co-ordination is a skill, and Roy Jones was one of the best co-ordinated boxers of all-time.

So....Shut the **** up, and go to the lounge.

If Roy Jones had an iron chin likes James Toney, he would undoubtedly be the greatest of all time.
