I think you might be referring to an Appeal to Popularity (Ad Populum) or Appeal to Belief.

Either way, LukeO has not based his argument entirely on the strength of the vote. In fact, he has not based his claim that Ali was better offensively than Mayweather on the vote, at all. He has merely stated that he sides with the majority, which in itself, is not a fallacy.

    Hope this helps.

Taking a beating on the ropes doesn't help him an argument regarding offense. Being a legend doesn't help him in this argument either. Nor does the heat, rain, or jungle.

Alright, you were offered plenty of opportunities to back up your claim, now move along.

Nope. Not a fallacy in itself. However, it is a terrible way to argue for the truth of something since the number of people who agree with something doesn't make it more or less valid. Hope this helps.

Didn't help floyd when he laid on the ropes and got beat up by castillo either.

Oh, and being a legend doesn't help him... neither does a hurt shoulder.

1 of these ended up in the only KO loss of a fighter's career.
The other ended in the only gift decision of the other's.

Not really, since I think we've already established that it was not in any significant way adding to an argument, i.e. no separate claim was being made that it must be true because the number of people that think so is greater.
[In your case] I doubt this helps.

The only round you can really say Mayweather got beat up in his round 7.

At the end of the fight he barely had a mark on him. Some "beaten up"

You'll notice I provided my evidence for Ali way before I said anything about "agreeing with the voters"

But grab at any straws you can. It's nothing new from a guy who loves floyd.
