One of the most underrated chins of this generation.

none of his knockdowns were too embarrassing, he looked tired more than anything in gis first knockdown.

he probably got shook up by a previous punch and then took a knee which is the smart thing to do when you're hurt and getting swarmed.

Tarver, never really impressed me at all. Tarver just landed a lucky shot on a weight drain never the same RJJ. He seemed like a fighter going threw the motions in some of his fights.

Well, this thread doesn't seem to be about his overall skillset so perhaps such opinions would be best saved for other threads.

Were you never really impressed by his punch resistance?

Tarver, took a pretty good punch. He was Knocked down 4 times so his chin wasn't granite but above average. He did get his jaw broken by Eric Harding who was a very light hitter.

So, would you say B+ or so (in terms of chin)? A- maybe?

    Much respect for Tarver...

Not only a good jaw, but good at taking body shots too.... Roy Jones in their first fight went savage on power shots to the body on Tarver. That was where Roy's harder shots landed that won him the fight.

Tarver was a bad son of a gun... his destiny was to beat Roy, and he did.
