    the sun -
HBO are eyeing a Super Six style light-welterweight show involving the likes of Amir Khan. It's a shame the event is not taking place in a year as 2007 world amateur champ Frankie Gavin would be ready to fight.

Based on what Frank says here it suggests Frankie will be world class by 2011. Should be interesting to see that quick rise.

Gary Shaw spoke to HBO about the idea of a LWW tournament and Alexander and Bradley were only ones interested.

Gavin needs good solid learning fights. Like to see him get a different type of style in each fight. Not just British and European fighters. Some Latin and U.S fighters would be good.

He'll look like a different fighter when he doesn't have to go looking for opponents, Everyone so far has only seen Frankie having to chase opponents, This is not his strong point!! As soon as he get's comfortable with the 12 round distance he'll be something else.. I feel that will be the final piece in the jigsaw.. Frankie Gavin in my eyes is the best fighter in the country..:good

    I agree with this.

Too many of the opponents that Dean Powell gets are all samey..... boxer types that can't punch very hard.

Surely someone that's a bit reckless and throws bombs would be a nice change, even if the opponent isn't all that good.

Get experience of fighting orthodox, southpaw, bangers, brawlers etc - too often Warren fighters lose at the highest level through lack of experience.

    Not exactly a co-incidence :deal

. Frank wouldn't risk his future cash cows this quick. He'll milk them for 3 years till they decide to leave.

They tried to get exactly what you said in Steve Saville and look what Frankie did to him.. Saville is a short wreckless puncher imo..

I'd like to know how long ago that it was that a FW fighter had anything to do with the WBU??? Also the WBO is a respected world title mate so I'd be more than happy if Frankie were to take that route....
