I just got back from Ring Announcing an Amateur Show in New Jersey and I am tired, But I do know that Ken Buchanan retired 3 . Laguna, Ortiz and Carlos Hernandez. Alexis Arguello retired Marcel, Watt and Costello.
Buchanan is of course correct (I knew, you would get that one!). When I say retired, I naturally mean for good - so I don't count Arguello, since Costello made a comeback several years later. I don't know, if there are others in this category (I can't think of any).
Hector 'Macho' Camacho - a nobody in Otillio Villareal, and two well past there best but still ATG's Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard. Not the greatest of retirements to brag about causing in hindsight but looks bloody good on boxrec.
Yes, Duran and Leonard is a fine pair to have retired - but I don't believe Ortilio Villarreal was ever a world champion.
We'll see what happens in the next few years, but it looks like Danny Green may have retired three - Manny Siaca, Julio Cesar Dominguez and Stipe Drews. We'll see if Siaca and Dominguez actually stay retired though.
