It's mainly disgruntled Floyd fanboys, upset their boy has gone quiet so feel they need to be his voice. Fanboyism is lame.

I like the way there's suddenly an outpouring of sympathy for Margarito when, if you search these guys' posts, you'll probably read them calling Margo a cheat and scumbag. People need to give up posting to an agenda - it's sad and lame.

    1) This thread has nothing to do with floyd, dont be such a *****. your hero didnt want pac this year, get over it.

    2) i have no sympathy for margo, i posted on another thread that the 1 upshot is that margo will get a bigger beating.

    3) the issue is that a 154 title fight should be fought at any weight betweem 147 and 154, not 147 and 150. there no should be nothing but choice to stop a fighter weighing 154.

You still haven't answered my question.

How do you prevent Margarito coming to the weigh-in at 150lbs?

You can't prevent Margo from coming in at 150 lbs. However, we don't know if he can make 150 comfortably. Why would we as a consumer want to pay $50 to see Pac fight a comprimised fighter? Pacquiao goes around saying that other fighter don't make the rules, but insituting a catchweight effectively changes the rules. If a catchweight clause is insituted, Margo has to pay a large financial penalty just to excersise his right to come in at any weight he wants to that isn't over 154 lbs.

We don't know if any fighter can make any weight comfortably. Two fights ago, Margarito weighed in at less than 146lbs. The eight fights before then he weighed in at 147lbs or less. There's no specific reason to think he can't make 150lbs comfortably, is there?

Yes, there is. Margo struggled a lot to make 147 against Mosley. He then didn't fight again for 16 months and made his return at 154. His body is used to being at a higher weight, which will make it that much harder for him to cut the weight.

Agree, i don't even know why they're fighting at a JMW title bout when they could just fight at 147 where pac can defend his WBO title.

Margo might be seriously drained if he tries to fight at 147. He already might be pretty drained at 150.

You're right, so why not give him the choice? Why effectively force him to fight at 150, when he hasn't been that low in almost 2 years?

It aint about preventing doing anything, that is the point.

the lmw division is 148-154 therefore if he wants to come in any weight in that limit he should be allowed, be it 148, 151 or 154.

by not allowing fighter to the limit it is my belief that it shouldnt be a title fight.

if they want to come in at 150, let them, but dont sign a contract stating this must be the case.

if they both just decide to come in light thats fine but when fighting for the 154 title you should be allowed to weigh 154
