this may sound crazy but i think margo has the upper hand with all this catchweight. Pac can barely make it to 147 and moving up to 154 is really bad for him. Margarito however has no problem in weighing in between 147 to 154. I dont think pac will walk through margo's punches either because the cotto fight shows clearly that he was greatly damaged by cotto's punches and that is just at 145. having said all this, its still their decision to fight at catchweight. Its not like margo was being force to do so.

Damn cobbler, you don't get it do you? Of Course Margarito don't have a choice. If you're smart enough you'll know. If Margarito don't accept the 150 pound catchweight then he'll lose his biggiest pay day in his career. What other fights Margarito could get pay that would be close to the Pacquiao fight?

But boxers often choose to do things that may not be in their favour in order to get a payday or title shot that they want. Fighting in an opponents hometown, his choice of gloves, or ring size.

What you don't get is that this is no different.

If a fighter wants to weigh in at 150lbs for a fight at 154lb limit, that's up to him.

  5. Allowed this and Allowed that... if both fighters agree to the weight in the contract wtf is your problem with it exactly? If you fight for the 154 title it means you can't exceed 154.. thats it... Thats why welterweights back in the day moved up and fought for light heavyweight titles.

Dude, If Margarito don't accept the catchweight then he'll lose his biggest pay day in his career. And would lose a chance to beat the number 1 p4p in Pacquiao. <<<And you saying Margarito has a choice?

No I said he has the same choice as any other fighter who takes a fight that might pay more money. Why aren't you outraged by any of those?

Allan Green is getting paid extra by Sauerland so that the Kessler fight is in Denmark. Should that be allowed?

Alexander against Kotelnik. Does Kotelnik have a 'choice' about fighting in the US? Of course not, if he wants the fight. Will you be outraged about that?

^^^He has no choice. Cause if don't accept to fight Alexander in st louis then he'll fight against a bum fighter in his home country for peanuts.

Errr, no. You seem to have misread that.

As I pointed out they all theoretically have a choice but the most logical choice for all of them is to take the fight.

So, are you outraged about all of them or just one?

Ok how about this, does Margarito have a choice? In reality no cause don't accept the catchweight then it means no bigger pay day. Which also mean no chance of trying to beat the best fighter in the world. Margarito could say no to a catchweight but in boxing will a fighter that has a chance to redeem himself from a knockout lose and is being accuse of a cheater will honestly say no to a catchweight for a fight against the number p4p best fighter in the world and the biggest pay day? Would you honestly do that if you were in Margarito shoes?

None of that in anyway answers the question.

Of course Margarito takes the fight, when did I say otherwise? Same as the others.

Your whole point to believing Margarito has a choice to say no to a catchweight. Lets say Margarito say no and theres no fight, would Margarito get close to the same amount of the payday vs other fighters then close to the payday vs Pacquiao? And you didn't answer my question, would you do that if you were in Margarito shoes of saying no to a catchweight for the biggest fight of your life and the biggest payday?

I got a question, lets say Pacquiao is not the number 1 p4p and isn't the big drawer that brings big big dollars. Would Margarito agree to a catchweight at 150 pounds if he was offer the same amount or less then the one he got vs Cotto or Mosley fights??? Honestly.

As i said before i have no problem with someone weighing 150 for a lmw title fight. my problem is setting a catchweight of 150 for a 154 title fight.

after smashing margo, pac will be able to call himself a lmw champion, although the fight werent at the lmw limit.

it is annoying that pac has done it for the 2nd weight in a row now. it really detracts from what a great talent he really is.
