This the second time that Pacquiao is moving up in weight to fight for the bs paper title. The first one was against the weakest link David Diaz at 135 pounds.

There were a lot of big fights he could have taken at 135, but i got no complaints with odlh, hatton, cotto and clottey.
he is taking a terrible choice in margo, lot better choices out there but he takes on margo for a vacant belt at a catchweight.

Then that's there choice, don't make it mandatory. If he wants the 154 pound title, he needs to get it at that weight.

I agree i got no problem Pacquiao fights with De la hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey. But Pacquiao moving 2 weight division to fight De la hoya at 147 pounds in which Oscar hasn't fought at ww in over 8 years. Pacquiao vs Cotto at a bs catchweight is the thing i hate. If Pacquiao vs Clottey was at 147 pounds then it didn't for Pacquiao vs Cotto?

Pac's team should not ask for a CW. Plain and Simple. IF it is for a title, then the title's rules should apply no more no less. It is hard to respect a title won by handicapping the opponent.

If the boxers can not come in at 154 pounds, the 154 pound title can not be on the line. Simple. If the fight is at a catchweight, it should not be for a title.

It sure is. It just can't be for a 154 title, because that allows a boxer to weigh 154.

the caveat to that is that the boxer is allowed to come in at 154 if he wants to and he can still win the title, but he will have to forgo a portion of his purse since the agreement was a catchweight.

For example, Cotto could have defended his title against Pacquiao at the full 147lb limit if he wanted to, but he would have to forgo 2M$ of his purse to Pac, as a compensation for having a huge size advantage.

Which is only fair because at the end of the day yes Cotto's title was on the line but there was also much more than that on the line like future paydays and p4p recognition and massive amounts of potential earnings.

So the situation would be the same with Margo he could probably not make the catchweight and weigh-in at 154 and still fight for the vacant title, but he would have to forego a portion of his purse to compensate for the massive size advantage he has in the fight which has alot more on the line than just the title.

^^^^If Pacquiao is one of the greatest as most biased dumb Pacquiao fans keep mentioning then he should have no problem fighting a fighter without a bs catchweight rather Margarito size is a huge advantage.

    @PH|LLA:
That has to be the weirdest logic ever. You fight for a belt to decide who is the best at a certain weight. If you can't accept the person to be heavier, the weight advantage, then you have no business fighting at that weight.

The catch weight thing is BS. Why do people keep bringing up Oscar? He runs his show on fights. Oscar felt he would be fine at the 147 lb limit .Maybe give him more speed to deal with Paq. He underestemated how his body would react.( not Paqs fault) The Cotto fight was his first test above 140 so I gave him a pass. I think he is hurting his legacy fighting Margo. for a vacant belt under the limit.

i know oscar hadnt fought thre for 8 years, but pac had never fought there lol, and noone knew back then that oscar was shot.

exactly if he can fight clottey at 147 he can fight cotto at 147.

if he wants to fight for a 154 title it should be at the 154 limit.

why the hell should a fighter have to forego a portion of his purse, for weighing in at 154 for a 154 title fight?

    that **** is whack!
