I'd argue mayweather has won many of his fights before stepping into the ring, he's a master at getting under the skin of his opponent, just does it with far less percieved humour than ali did

 

Ali is by far the greater fighter, and I tend to think he'd look like a technical masterpiece himself had he gone 17 years fighting the type of competition Floyd has been fighting.

...Come to think it, I don't feel comfortable with the two of them uttered in the same sentence. Muhammad Ali stopped Sonny Liston, George Foreman, and Joe Frazier....whereas Mayweather has been out-boxing Baldomir, Judah, and old Mosley....well, when he isn't on vacation.

 

Floyd is definately technically better than Ali, and so is a lot of other fighters. But his resume and accomplishments shits all over Floyds. And as Laila said, Ali was one of the first who had the style that he had, people can only get better but remember who started it all. Ali was like a heavyweight version of Sugar Ray Robinson.
