Yes, he CAN fill out to 168. But that would require a lot of work to not do it artificially. If he can make 47, 20 pouns BELOW SprMW, then he has a LOT of room to make up for. There's a reason guys move up slowly in weight. To Acclimate to that weight. Froch, Green, AA...may not be defensive wizards, but they have ALL talken heavier hits then Williams has. They are used to it. PWill hasn't.
He could fill out over time. Doesn't mean he is natural as big as any of those in the tournament. I think any of them have the potential to knock him out. He is an unknown quantity above 168, he has never taken 168 punches. Abraham, Froch, Kessler for starters are all big punchers. And not just big in comparison to anything Williams has been tagged with before, but big punches for the SMW division altogether. And Williams is always getting tagged. Williams would need to find extra power to back these guys up, would need to improve his defensive drastically, be able to take punches from big 168lbers [been on the floor from one-shot by a light-middle remember, even if not that hurt] and massively improve his timing and range control and jab.
Starched? He would have never had to go up to MW if Bob Arum had allowed *****-ass Cotto to get in the ring with him. The nerve of a Cotto fan to talk **** about PW.:-( Cotto, what about Paul Williams?: "Umm.. err... I will... um... fight.. um whoever um ...my company ...um puts err... um... in front of me..."
And what's keeping him from fighting Berto, Cintron, Martinez, Dzinzurik or any of the other guys from 147 to 160 NOT held by Arum? Let me guess...not enough MONEY to fight them? :think
Why bring anyone else into the mix? The issue is between Martinez and Williams....who Williams won't get into the ring with!!!! I think Paul Williams is just a big ***** and is fortunate to have escaped with a W over Martinez!!!
C'mon...Williams is a good guy. Just has the worst promoter today trying to cash him out vs. big names instead of putting him in better fights.
:deal Shut the **** up you porch ******, He always talks like that after a fight because his english sucks. And if you think P Williams will beat any of the super six fighters you are even more of a nuthugger then i thought you where :good:good
Berto is not gonna fight him. Al Haymon isn't about to let that happen yet. Dzin has his own company to blame, which is why he left them. Paul is under contract with HBO. They are NOT paying for a Cintron rematch. He shoud have stuuck around for the first one. Martinez? I don't have a clue. He wants to fight the champs, former champs, and beltholders of the division. I don't see what the big problem with that is.:huh
He doesnt even want to give a rematch to Martinez and you think hes gonna fight any of the super six?Its not going to happen Martinez took away that mu****a's balls and he hasnt been the same since, hes shooked.
Well, the big problem is, if they are unavailable, then you stuill gotta do something. Not sit around, passing on fights, HOPING to get a cash cow. And I don't care if Berto and Williams are both working for Haymon. That's no better a reason them blaming Arum. If Haymon and Goosen are holding him back, he needs to dump them. No matter what Williams believes, he is NOT a cash cow, a rating grabber, or a draw. He has no pull in much vs., any of the fighters he wants. And his insistence on getting more money them Martinez is a good sign he just wants a payday. Or does he want to prove he;s a great fighter. Can't tell just yet, but he seems more Money May then Sugar Shane.
Learn to read *****... I never said he would beat any of those fighters... He's a ****ing 147 guy who fought at 152.5 for a 154 fight. Read the thread ******, before you get your ***** bent out of shape.
And so is the way with boxing.... Fighters want to always fight the ones who are more known than them. Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, Shane, Floyd, Pac... everyone wants to climb the ladder. I'm not a part of his management team... All I know is that he has been passed up by fighters who have proven less in the ring. When Floyd pulls that kind of move, everyone says it's ducking. When Shane does it, everyone says "he deserves a payday", when Cotto does it "awwww his ***** hurts.. he needs to fight a tuneup first against Jennings" Do we want to see the best at 147 fight the best, or is "Boxing a business" ??? Just a little consistency is all I ask.
the only person more hyped on this website than paul williams is gamboa. I get it Paul Williams is good but lets not go crazy here people were talking about the elite talent of the 168 pound weight division
